My first year in Bowling Green. What a magical season that was!

Wow, never really thought of that.

That was my junior year at BG and I was lucky enough to be the sports editor at the BG News at the time. Covering that team was definitely one of the highlights of my time at the school.

That was my second year at BGSU (or the third semester of my freshman year). I remember the game at UK and beating them in the final minutes.

One of many, many memorable moments and one of two great comebacks (the other being Miami, of course).

I remember that final drive well. There were so many "well-timed" holding penalties against BG on that drive that, at one point, the BG SID slammed his hand down on the table in disgust. He was trying to keep it together, but his face was beet red. McClure couldn't have looked any cooler; heck, he probably could have had 3rd and 50 and still gotten us in the endzone. I remember Meehan leaping in the end zone to grab that game-winning TD and another sports writer staring in disbelief - "He caught it. They scored. They're gonna win."

Best post-game meal in my sportswriting career at The Post that night.

A little trivia - did you know that BG moved the Ball State game ahead in the schedule so that Denny Stolz could enter the UK game with 99 wins?

The 1985 team will always be one of my faves....my sister was a SO that year and I was a SR in HS. I arrived in the fall of 1986 just in time for....Moe. :x :(

We were at the Miami and Toledo games in '85.

BG won the MAC in 1965 as well. Hmmm.... 1965, 1985 and now 2005.
