Was able to get some info on hotels that are literally across the street from the UB Stadium. Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, Red Roof Inn, Marriot, Sleep Inn...all in Amherst, NY. If ya wanna spend some bucks, Lord Amherst Hotel has a room for $172/per night.
I am gonna book a room at the Red Roof Inn on Flint Road for the Freaks.
Will be a cool trip! We are about 3 hours from Buffalo...
GO FALCONS!!

Thanks for the info 'Freak. I'm planning on making that trip, but wasn't sure what hotels were nearby. I'll have to look into one of those.

Sounds like the setup we had in Madison. Five in the room with space for plenty more!

We got a block of 8-9 for that game, but I don't think we're heading up until the morning of the game. Only 1 more remaining MAC school after Buffalo where I haven't seen a game.

Freak,
Glad you got a room. My computer's been out of commission so I didn't see the message until tonight.
Not sure where Flint road is. I know there are a couple of Red-roofs around Buffalo.
I haven't heard anything about an alumni tent yet.
staying in niagara falls, canada

Better add a couple of orders of chicken wings to that wish list. How many road trips did I used to make to Buffalo when I was at BG? Almost a second home. Anywhere that delivers radioactive chicken wings and all the trimmings to your door is OK by me!

I'd like to think I am 90% confirmed for the trip, but you never know when life is going to rise up and re-prioritize your time.
Me and the son would be making a 1 day trip out of the whole thing so no need to book a room. My Rochester NY based Mom says the casino's are better on the canadian side and you get more chips because of the exchange rate

.
We'll eventually figure out a gathering location, but my aim is to be there when they de-bus, then we can do lunch or tailgate.

LB,
I was told by some Buffalo fans that Flint Rd is 2-4 blocks from the Campus in Amherst. I asked them for anything decent within a few miles. Last week at Ball State was sweet...the stadium was a block away from our Days Inn.
Looking forward to this trip. GO FALCONS!!

We'll be making the trip and staying with my parents (BG alums as well) nearby. They'll be joining us for the game. Little Emily will be making her first appearance at a BG roadie that week.
On Sunday I'm going to the Bills v. Jets game before heading back to Ohio. What a great weekend!

Anyone starting out of Columbus? Any word on how long of a drive it is from there?

I am starting in Columbus, but heading to Cleveland on Friday night. Mapquest shows the total trip from Columbus to be around 5 hours.
The only time we ever went to Buffalo was in early January to watch basketball and got caught in a huge snowstorm coming back. So I don't have a good gauge on how long the drive really is. Absolutely misearable drive that night, but McLeod hung 40 on the Bulls and we won.
