Did Jacobs make the NIU trip in 2002?

Post by BGSU33 »

I know we red-shirted Jacobs in 2002, but does anyone know if he made the trip to Dekalb that year? A lot of times a team will take a player of importance (such as Jacobs was then) on the road as part of the travel party for sidelines experience, and for worst case, if the two-deep goes down with injuries. I have the game on tape, and if I can somehow stomach it, I'll try and watch it again only to scan the sidelines to hopefully answer my own question. I guess in the back of my mind, it would be comforting to know he was there just for the experience of what it was like and what happened. It certainly couldn't hurt in his preparation in what will, in my opinion, be his "biggest" game as a Falcon.

I suspect Omar did not make the trip. With Harris as starter and Sahm as backup, Mrs. Meyers husband likely would have used Cole Magner as 3rd string QB if needed at the time.

Omar was there, he traveled in every game his true freshman year but never took a snap. I believe they do that to help the QBs get as many mental reps as possible. I think Anthony Turner is making all the trips this year.

I thought so because I remember seeing him in all the pregames thinking this guy looks like he is going be a stud.
