Freak:

 Carnac predicts - no freakin' way - no pun intended, Freak!

:?: Why, you ask?

:!: Simple. That would put two teams from the West in bowls and, barring the miracle of a third MAC bowl bid, leave the East champion without a bowl bid. Imagine how you would feel if you're Miami or Ohio or whoever and you make it to the conference title game and then watch Northern take "your" bowl bid.

I know, I know, I know ... the West looks a lot stronger than the East this year. But that shoe could easily be on the other foot and I sure wouldn't want my West Champion Falcons sitting home during the bowl season.

Hmmm ... I wonder if I could talk Ruth into letting Noah & I go to Mobile a week before Christmas ... 8)

Maybe they're predicting Marshall to take the East but with perhaps a 4- or 5-loss record and no one else really to contend with.

Yeah Marshall *should* go to a bowl, but if BG and NIU are both the cream of the conference this year, I doubt Chryst would be shopping Marshall to either the GMAC or the MCB.

The yahoos in Huntington would throw a fit, but who, including the MAC office would care?

Not I.

rollalongFF0304: Excellent logic and very valid point ... I just doubt that CFN put that much thought into it!

I could see that happening. There would be a certain poetic justice to Marshall winning their division in their last year in the MAC ... and the conference basically screwing them out of a bowl bid. Nice touch!

If a team from another division were to get screwed out of a bowl bid because both went to the other division, I wouldn't be too happy.....unless of course it went to BG. :) Because think how mad we'd be if they went both to the East if BG won the West and sat at home.

HOWEVER....if it did happened this year but it was Marshall or UCF getting screwed in that fashion, I'll be happy to provide the screwdriver, screw and bolt to make sure it happened. NO WAY should we be shopping those two schools around given their case this year. I don't even like that they can compete for a MACC or bowl berth. I don't even care if they would have a better shot at representing the MAC or not in a bowl, I'd vote 100 percent in favor of another MAC school getting shopped around and inserted in a bowwl over either of those two this year, period! If they want to go bowling, leet them next season in the FIVE BOWLS!!!! that C-USA has. The sooner they are gone, the better as far as I am concerned.

I think Miami will be the team from the east again guys, marshall looks good despite their record, but look at the numbers MU has been putting up on offense, and their schedule hasnt been that easy. I can easily see NIU taking their bowl bid, right after the Falcons pull at 2003 on Miami and utterly stomp them in the title game.

Fellas,

Just pointing it out....I found it very interesting they had 2 West teams in the bowls.

Not that I expect it to happen either.

As long as BG is in a bowl, I'm happy.
