SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: In its most recent outing against Ball State, Bowling Green's defense held the Cardinals to less than 10 yards and forced a punt or a turnover in nine of 17 possessions. That is what head coach Gregg Brandon expected from his defense when he stressed an attacking, swarming style of play.
The defense definitely improved since the Wisky loss and everything Ball State got was a long play on a miscue with the younger guys or great field position on a turnover. The younger guys will be better and the offense will get back to their old ways of protecting the ball. The defense will be just fine against Boise and hopefully calm the nerves of some of the BG naysayers, but then again, I like to take the optimistic route.
GO BG!!!

Ball State or some other team...doesn't matter. The D was much better than the Wisky game. The tackling was better and the overall effort was much better. And Ball State came to play that night. I know they got ripped at Iowa and Auburn but they played hard against us in Muncie.
Give Lovett some time....we'll all be very pleased with the defense soon.
1) someone needs to tell USA Today that Middle Tenn State is 1-A and...
2) BG is back in the East division.
BEAT BOISE STATE!
