It's my birthday, So I get my own thread

This game sucked and it sucked HARD. The defense was terrible against the run and awful against the pass. When we did manage to get pressure on the QB, we completely lost containment and left Zabarnananansky tons of room to run.

On offense, our WR's got zero separation and we couldn't establish a running game to save our lives. Omar looked like he was just chucking the ball out there with the hope that something good might happen.

It didn't.

Our special teams have been the kind of "special" that earns you a seat on the short bus to school.

Once again we looked to be playing at a slower speed than the opposition. They were playing in overdirve while we were puttering along in third gear.

I suspect we'll drill some people at the Doyt come October and more than likely we'll have a shot at playing for the MAC title in November. As bad as we are, we're still good enough to go unbeaten until the Miami/Toledo sequence in November.

I'll watch those October games thinking that I'm seeing pretenders instead of contenders though. Is it asking too much to have the team at least look like they're prepared to play?

I spared myself from watching most of the game simply because I had homework (this sentence is still really creepy to type).

I'm with you Flipper. The last 2.5 years have been very telling to me. Brandon is an excellent offensive mind and he has done wonders to get our offense where it is today.

But head coach material? I wanted to believe he would take this team to the next step and that he would be a good HC with experience. He can't seem to LEARN from his mistakes, however. Either he can't or he just doesn't want to admit to mistakes.

Things which are unsettling:
*Lack of adjustments. I've noticed this for the past three seasons. I chose to ignore in the case of wins, but the problem just compounded in the losses.

*Am I the only one who has noticed that the players don't seem to want to "play" for Brandon?

*Lack of preparedness. This has been written about ad nauseum on this board. I don't need to say more.

Go BG! I bleed burnt orange and seal brown. My enthusiasm for all things BG will not falter because of this game nor this season. On to Temple and on to HOMECOMING!
Can't wait!

Oh, and happy birthday.

Does this mean you're going to start acting your age?

I posted this in another thread but from the start they didn't look ready to play the motivation wasn't there. The team was at best going through the motions.

How about we just wish Flipper a happy birthday on this thread instead of trying to be an idiot, OK?

Happy Birthday!

Today is Corey's birthday, he got a reinjuried separated shoulder for his birthday, what did you get?

I don't understand why this kid is playing with this type of injury. If he sits boise and temple he would have had almost 4 weeks to heal and be ready for the MAC schedule. I don't know, I am frustrated like the rest of you and I am sure he is too.

Happy birthday to the Axe-Man.

And to Corey too. Ouch, sorry to hear about the injury. I hope he is doing okay. Don't know who they use as a team doctor, but just as someone who has seen lots of sports injuries & represented malpracticing drs., I would make sure he sees a good orthopedic shoulder specialist. I don't know that I'd trust the finest Wood Co. has to offer or not. Because of things I have seen, I always try to go to big city teaching hospitals because they seem to have the best technology and most brilliant physicians. JMO though! Hope he has a quick recovery!

Happy Birthday
