At this point, I'd be asking the coaching staff the same question. I have always supported Coach Brandon and the staff but there are absolutely NO freakin excuses for that team to be so poorly prepared. It starts at the top.

You know I agree Freak. What's more is is that this is not the first time. We've been seeing bits & pieces of it for years; last night was just the most glaring example.

Maybe Brandon's feeling too comfortable, I don't know, but somebody needs to step up and be a leader. Even the best tactics are only as good as they are executed. If you cannot get your team to buy into, and then execute, your plan you are sunk.

I watched a grossly unprepared team get it's butt kicked last night ---- an embarrassment, really. The defense had no clue ---- totally ultra slow as well, and the offensive play calling was a disaster. Why all the bombs? What happened to the short pass, and why wasn't Omar on the run. There were many opportunites for him to have easily scampered for a first down; instead he chose to throw into full coverage. Maybe Turner would have been a much better choice in the second half. And where were the razzle-dazzels last night ---- running Pope up the gut doesn't take much offensive imagination. Even he, however, looked grossly slow. Over all, it was the worst showing for a BG team in a very long time, and I think things are only going to get worse. Yes, they'll win against the weakies (maybe), but Miami and Toledo are gonna take 'em to the cleaners again. And next year they're gonna take on OSU, Wis, and Boise. God Forbid! Recuiting is the name of the game, and this coaching staff has already proven they can't do that. Too bad.

If I were you I would analyze OK's problems before ours. We do have the same record after all.

Don't get me wrong, Boise State smelled awful against Georgia, BGSU didn't play its game against the Broncos, but who the He77 are you to bag on BGSU? It happens to everyone (except USC, of course), so go merrily on your way to collect your big, fat, undeserving BCS check and stick to your own Sooner circle jerk.

Besides, aren't all the mid-majors beneath everyone vaguely associated with the Big Whatever Number It Is Now?

Thanks for telling us what we already know.

Now kindly worry about your own team....TCU? UCLA? We lost at Wisconsin and at Boise State. I think those two teams are better than the teams you lost to.

Whatever the case, OK is in a heap of trouble this year. Mack Brown is gonna be looking for big time payback for all the frustration of the last few years.

BTW, when the Sooner program was down and experiencing 3 or 4 losing seasons in a row in the 90's, didn't Nebraska beat OK 69-3 one year? IT HAPPENS.

Geez, that's a lot of attention paid to a non-BCS school, dontcha think!

Too bad, too, because we had some good Okie posters here last year. It's a shame a few lunkheads have to come in and make the fanbase look bad.

Anyway, enough. The winning streak begins Oct. 1.

So we are 1-2 just as we were last year with a very favorable schedule for the next several weeks. Can the Falcons duplicate what they did last year and begin to turn this season around in week four? I believe they can but there are some problems to overcome this year that we did not have last year.

The say there are 3 aspects to every game that largely determine who wins and who loses. Offense, defense and special teams. In the past we have known the offense would score 30 or more each game. Our special teams have been solid for as long as I can remember. Our achilles heel has been our defense. In the past we have been able to overcome our defensive shortcomings against most of the teams we have played. My biggest concern is we may not be able to do that this year.

We know our special teams are lousy. 4 missed extra points in 3 games is ridiculous. High school teams do better than that. I see the coaches going for first downs on 4th down rather than tryng anything longer than a chip shot (not that there is such a thing as a chip shot with out kicker). Two long kickoff returns that turned games around. Offensively, we are totally one dimensional. We have not been able to run the ball and teams will continue to do what Ball State and Boise State did and that is to drop 8 in coverage and take away our wideouts. We have to get more creative in our play calling to get the ball underneath the coverage. Maybe we need to become more patient and not expect the 2 and 3 minute 80 yard drives of the past.

Our schedule is very favorable. The first team that we might not be favored against is Miami. Miami has a loss in conference already. The next weeks are an opportunity for the team to regain their confidence and realize the MAC title is a very real possibility. Now if they learn to kick, cover kicks, and tackle it could still be a good season. 8-3 and a spot in the MAC title game is my prediction.
