Someone else mentioned it in another thread, but I feel compelled to make another post.

I know I'm a bit biased because he's one of Noah's favorite players, but I have been really impressed by Perry after seeing him in two games. Even late in the Boise game, when it was clearly over, the kid was still flying to the ball and making hits. Because of our deficiencies against the run, he hasn't been forced into a lot of pass coverage, which was a weakness when I've watched before, but I maintain my belief that this kid is a playmaker.

If he continues to play like this, he may be the one BG defensive player to merit post-season honors from the MAC.

Perry is a legit safety. One of the few players on our defense that was a star defensive player recruited for defense. He is one of the few people on our defense that is not playing out of position.

Yeah with him and Smith I feel okay about our secondary moving forward. The focus needs to be on the front seven. I think the second unit from 60% of the teams in the country are honestly better than our front seven.

He also caused a fumble that was not called deep in our territory when we were down 13-6 I think. With instant replay it would have been reversed. I think Deaudre tries really hard and he showed a lot of fire after the second long TD at Ball State. He was all over his defensive teammates. I think he is the only guy on the defense with a pulse at some times. I hope that he continues to improve unlike some players that have seemingly gotten worse over there careers, such as Piepkow and Parks.

I see no way to criticize our secondary at this point in the season. Our front 7 is probably in the worst 10 in all of college football. Due to that our secondary is forced to make tackles in run support and they are hung out to dry with no pass rush. Our worst nightmares of losing our DL talent are really starting to come true with this team.

Kudo's to Perry, Jordan, Smith, and everyone else who's playing in this secondary. We have not allowed a single 30+ run in either the Boise or Wisconsin games. This is a testament to our secondary playing the run with some ferocity when you factor in that our front 7 is getting killed.

The secondary still missed some tackles last night, but when you're asking 190 pound guys to tackle 220 pound RBs who have a head of steam built up you're going to have that occasionally.

Perry and Jordan have both played very well. Mayberry and Smith have been a little inconsistent, but one guy's a freshman and another is playing a new position.

yea Perry can defn play. i also like Smith and Jordan. if only we could have Purdue's DL and OSU's LB's, to go along with our secondary... then we'd be very well off i think.

We can have and end to this bad luck with our d-line depth like a star recruit getting a heart condition , a star returning d-lineman with alcohal trouble and a DE leaving early and on and on, we might eventually get a respetable D-line. Plus we need to start recruiting heck out of good DT's with good size that we can get our hands on. That also means keep your mits off our "oversized" d-lineman recruits Coach B.

If it is ruled down by contact, the whistle would have blown at that time, ending the play. Due to the play being ended that play is not reviewable.

If the play is ruled a fumble, that can be reviewed to see if it should have been down by contact and ended before the fumble.

Personally, I didn't see a fumble that SHOULD have even been overturned. The RB that fumbled had a knee down already, IMO.
