Helping small athletic budget

Post by 04forheisman »

Attention Paul Krebs: I want to volunteer myself to begin the search for the next head coach of Bowling Green State University. I can't stand the way this program is headed and now is the time to find a FOOTBALL coach and not a offensive coordinator-nice guy-blah, blah, blah.

My first two candidates are:

Dan Mullen

Billy Gonzales
http://www.gatorzone.com/insidefootball ... o=gonzales

Just a start, more to come..........

Those are interesting choices.

I think Dan Mullen would do a great job as a head coach some day.

Do you think Mullen would be interested in returning to Bowling Green?
I have no idea, obviously, but it is something to consider.

I still don't think firing Brandon is the answer.

Shouldnt we go for a D-coordinator? Stud can handle the offense.

I wouldn't fire Brandon, I think he will take another job after this year. Personally, I think he should go be an offensive coordinator at a big-time university. But, he may end up taking another head coaching job at a similar level school to BG. We also can't afford to fire a head coach.

Not really sure Dan Mullen would come here either, but gonzales is more of a possibility. Mullen will be in line for a BCS job after 2 years at Florida.

Perhaps Rich Brooks would be interested in coaching BG after he gets canned at UK.

I agree that Mullen should be in line for a big payday in a couple years. Although, the Florida offence has not been "that" good this year.

I would think that Gonzalas would be one of the leading candidates for the OC job at Florida. He has been the WR coach in the system for many years now -- he should know it as well as anyone.

Time to go outside our remaining coaches. STUD is offensive coordinator, and haven't been real impressed with playcallling. Run the god damn ball.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind a former Defensive Coordinator to be our Head Coach, THAT could fix a few problems
Not to be confused with Poptartin

My choice

Post by Germainfitch1 »

http://www.packers.com/team/coaches/duffner_mark/

He is fiery and has been a head coach. The four things I want in our next coach is a Defensive minded coach with NFL experience, head coaching experience and fiery charismatic guy who will get fans in seats like Urban tried to.

This guy has Ohio coaching experience in Cincinnati and OSU and Head coaching experience at Maryland.

Keep the offense intact and let him resurrect the D and ST's.

COACHING BACKGROUND:

Year College/Pro Team Position Coached
1975-76 Ohio State Graduate Assistant
1977-80 Univ. of Cincinnati Defensive Coordinator
1981-85 Holy Cross Defensive Coordinator/
Recruiting Coordinator
1986-91 Holy Cross Head Coach
1992-96 Maryland Head Coach
1997-2000 Cincinnati Bengals Linebackers
2001-02 Cincinnati Bengals Defensive Coordinator
2003-05 Green Bay Packers Linebackers

Two words...Mr. Douchebag. He's an expert in all facets of the game and more fun to rip on than Tom Numnutz.
