He had his redshirt peeled according to the box from Boise. Any thoughts?

With the lack of pass rush and stopping the run, I'm all for seeing what other guys can do. 6'2" 260 lbs. Needs more size but hopefully Coach Hillman will get him beefed up 20-30 pounds.
Trevor had a tackle Wed night.

Anyone know from where???? DT or DE? Any background on him? According to his bio when he was recruited he went to Quncy Notre Dame in Quincy Illinois. He set the school record for sacks in a season his senior year with 11.

I noticed that this moring as well. My thoughts? Pretty frickin' stupid. No sense in putting a guy in in that game and ruining the redshirt.
On the other hand, the guys in front of him obviously are not getting the job done. So if he is better than guys in front of him, than let him play. I just hope that he does see more time now that the redshirt is ruined.
Back after the signing of recruits last spring, didn't Brandon say we would redshirt all of them? That is not happening. There is at least three true freshman that have played now. The half-full view would say that this means we are bringing in better recruits. The half-empty view is that the guys in front of them aren't as good as we thought. Which one is it?

On the recruiting video, I was impressed with his motor. He looked a little bit like a bowling ball on speed. Per Brandon, Illinois was on him until they dumped Turner for Zook. He was then offered a preferred walk on at Iowa, but took a schollie here instead.

He lined up at DT. I think they're looking at Thomas James as a DT also

James is just 255. DT should be our main goal for next year. Getting a guy who can eat space either from the hs ranks or from our o-line.

If the kid can bring anything I have no problem peeling off the redshirts. Most of the stars of college football do something to stand out in either their first or second years.
Obviously, I'm taking the glass half empty route that our established guys aren't getting it done, but if playing young players improves us than I'm not going to complain.

I expect to see a lot more of Frericks. You don't peel a redshirt like that and then not play a guy.

Don't be so sure. Winovich played almost exclusively on special teams last year.

Hey everyone,
I am Trevor's brother, I have been lurking on the board since he started looking at BG. I am glad to see that he is going to a school with a loyal fan base.
Anyway, I just wanted to clear this up when I saw this post. I talked to Trevor a few hours before game time, he didn't travel to Boise so there must have been a mistake in the box score. So, he didn't have his redshirt peeled during the Boise game.
