We gotta run

According to the Toledo Blade, Ball State figured us out and Boise State learned the lesson the Cardinals taught.

The solution may be to have Omar run more, as has been discussed earlier.
Go Falcons!

Anyone wanna guess what kind of defensive formation Temple will use against us next Sat? :-\

Hopefully the same one they used against Wisconsin?

I really don't think Temple uses defensive formations. I'm pretty sure they just give those kids a shot of Jack, slap 'em on the ass and tell them to get out there and hit the guys in the other uniforms because they just insulted their mothers.
Or am I giving Temple too much credit?

The ASU coach made a point before the season opener of saying Temple's D tended to play run first, pass second. That's a good thing, obviously, for us.
That being said, I'm sure they'll try to mimick Balls State and Boise State and drop a lot of guys back in coverage.

I have wondered through the first couple games of this season why our rush offense has struggled so much. We have really good backs in PJ and BJ and an offensive approach which should force safeties to stay back off the line. It probably shouldn't be because of the line. We return a very strong left side of the line and a respectable right side with Nystrom and Big D. Obviously, at center, we have a huge decrease in skill going from Scotty Mruczkowski to Jon Culp. So, what is the problem with the running game? Is it simply because of PJ's injury or do we have bigger problems like unskilled lineman that miss blocks more often than in the past or backs that don't hit holes with speed? I will admit that I know very little about the strategy involved with blocking schemes and I don't often closely follow the movements of O lineman. It just confuses me how we can go from averaging 5 yards a pop to being lucky to get 3 yards on first down.

I think it falls back to the lack of fundamentals that we see throughout this team this year.
