FG kicking contest?

I saw a mention or two in the tailgating threads about a FG kicking contest during pregame. That sounds like fun....would it be more fun to innundate the media with emails and call it an "open tryout" to find an alternate (not a replacement) kicker?
It might get some pub for the site.....

Your sense of irony is perfect. I love this idea. Perhaps one of our intrepid student posters could talk to the good folks at The BG News?

The featured competition will begin on the 8th...but don't let that stop you from "practicing" and sizing up the "competition" at Homecoming.
True to form, Little League is maintaining their noon start time this Saturday...so I figure we let Legacy Boy play 3 innings and we are out of there at 1:30 which will allow us to get to BG just after kickoff...so I won't be there for any tailgating.
On the 8th, we will have brackets of competition.....undergrads, future undergrads (under 18) which will have a golf-like handicap, alumni of Northwest Ohio, and Rest of Nation. Rivals.com, USA Today, and Harris Interactive has the winner coming out of Rest of Nation but there are some mid-majors crying What about me? from the future undergrads
Weekly winner gets a commemorative GMAC Bowl trinket...and weekly winners, provided they return, will have the final competition before the Toledo game. Grand Prize will be the right to wax on for the entire off-season about how they know how to "play the wind factor".

As someone who's specialized in newspaper design, don't cop out.

Tell them about the story idea.

Once again, I only design. As in, I don't want to tell them about the story idea

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize you were using that as a cop-out.

If a lot of you are still into this...I'll take it upon myself to moderate, so PM me on your desire to participate so I can develop the brackets, or if you are "really" into this you can specify someone you want to take on in a first round head-to-head matchup for bragging rights!
Again, the brackets are: Undergrads (those currently @BG), Future Undergrads (aka Youth Nation, Next Gen AZZ) who will be spotted some type of advantage (i.e. kicking from the goal line), NW Ohio, and "Rest of Nation".
PM with your name or nickname, your bracket name....and preference for 1st Round matchup if applicable.
The most appropriate time to do this is probably right after the TEAM WALK. I figure most people will be there by then (ETA is what? about 4:00pm...2 hours prior to kickoff). It also gives those that tailgate all day enough time to "oil their joints". We will be on one of the two fields adjoining the tent city area...we will kick in a southerly direction regardless of wind...and there will be wind!!
Disclaimer: This is not an open tryout for PK duties...Coach arrived at one with Fry's record setting performance at Homecoming...however you do retain rights to be known as the "12th Man".

I believe the proper term is Oopma Zoombas.
