Colorado State and us

Post by Schadenfreude »

Tune into ESPN right now and you'll see Colorado State hosting Air Force.

It's worth tuning in.

Check out the stadium.

I've always thought it looked something like ours. They recently did a renovation, and I think they previously added seats. Twenty years ago, it seated about 30,000.

With us 1-2 and pretty glum right now, I thought it was worth pointing out.

I think we get down that we aren't where we want to be -- rolling every team we face, selling out every game and speculating on whether we'll get an Orange Bowl invite.

And a lot of people like to take shots at our stadium.

But I think figuring out where we want to go and how to get there is easier when we break it into chunks.

I think we'd like to get to where Colorado State is right now, but they aren't that far ahead of us. If we think of it that way, it seems a little more managable.

Look at their stadium. And consider what they've been able to do with that program.

Here are some photos from the recent renovation:

I've said it before that I think SEBO is just the tip of the iceburg. I really believe we are in for luxury boxes and new press boxes. It would be relatively easy to build onto the Doyt.

All it takes is money.

Thanks for posting, Schad. I especially like the green port-o-potties on the 20 yard line. That's a nice touch. I hope they kept those even after construction was completed.

Neat topic, SF. I watched some of the 2nd half after finally getting the car all loaded up. CSU's stadium does look similar to ours.

I'd like to sked a home and home with the Rams. Sonny Lubick is a fine coach and he runs a solid program.

I also like Fisher DeBerry at the AFA. Although he may be in for a long year.

RUIT,
I agree....I also think the Doyt is gonna see some great changes the next few years.

Thanks for the pics. I would love to see them drop the field a bit. That added depth could help our advantage by making the opposing team feel like our fans are going to fall right on top of them. It's a great time to be a FALCON!

I had to read your entire post first...I thought the point you would get to is that the stadiums look alike and that there's was less than half full last night.
