Tent Talk...

Just a reminder, the tent (With or w/o power...) will be up and running come Saturday for the OU game. I hope a GREAT crowd can make it out.
We had toyed with the idea of a chili cookoff... are people still game??
I should have the shirts available for purchase at the tent, then I'll sell what's left online afterwards. As always, there will be a free-will "offering" to help defray the cost of the tent as well.
Can't wait to finally see everyone and get to a BG football game!! Geez, it seems like it's been forever!!

Hope you had a great time at your mom's wedding today, Grant! It was kind of funny, as I was watching the video feed online today there were two seperate times that I saw a guy that looked almost exactly like you. Kinda freaked me out as I really don't want more than one of you wandering around out there.
Anyhow, my dad may be going to the game next week by himself (he's a VERY dedicated fan!), so I told him that he should stop by the AZZ tent. Anyone mind giving him a Brat or something?

I'm still planning on making chili. Picked up most of my ingedients today actually. Though power would be beneficial as I planned on bringing up a crock pot. Great to hear to the shirts should be ready. I am looking forward to getting mine.

Of course... have him stop in. We've never been short on food.
The wedding was great. I'll have to post a pic of my outfit for it though.

I got to see the first quarter online before heading to the church, which was pretty sweet!!

Grant,
Was at a Barnes and Nobles yesterday and seen the latest edition of Ohio Magazine (John Glenn's). Cover story was three college towns you had to watch a fall football game, Columbus (OSU), BG, and Alliance (Mount Union). You did a great job of letting them know things to do!!

My wife, son and son's girl friend will be there Saturday. We will definitely make a contribution toward the tent fee. Weather should be better than the last time we had a tent--my beer was literally freezing in my hand.

I'll be there, as will will Pam and Flipperella. Let's see if we can keep those little "Lehigh" bastards out of the tent this year. Snakehat man is a given (BTW, I caught some of the Temple feed of the game on BCSN this morning. They showed a nice long shot of Snake and some other drunk. The inevitable comaparison to "Blue" from Old School was made).
What time does the tent open?

After missing homecoming due to a death in the family, and a trip to Houston for the funeral, I'm truly looking forward to bringing Joyce to the game, a day after her sister gets married....hopefully, we'll both be in good enough shape to enjoy the Falcons for only the 2nd time this year...(Wisky game at least was entertaining).

Other than Chili what else should we make?
PGY: I would advise against expecting power for your crockpot. We're O-fer getting power.
If you can put it in a large Aluminum or Stainless steel kettle we can throw it on the deep fryer burner. I'll make sure to bring the fryer even if we choose not to deep fry.
Grant, I've got a little over half a keg of brown ale left. That's what I'll be bringing. It got good reviews from H20, Dayons, and Metz. The hotties next to us didn't want to try it though...afraid it was too fattening...lol. Oh well, more for me. But if making your own beer doesn't get you the chicks what will!? LOL

I have a camp stove. It has two burners and they can get pretty hot. I'll bring it along in case someone needs a stove rather than a grill.

I'm bringing chili. Others may want to make something complimentary, like cornbread or bring crackers, etc. Bowls, plastic "silverware," napkins, the usual sundry things.
If I get the time this week, I'll make my habanero/lime cheesecake which has been a hit the past couple years. I don't know if I'll have the time or not, but I'll give it a shot.
I've got a question in regarding electricity, I'll let you know what I hear back. Warming the chili on the fryer burner worked pretty well last year though too.
Can't wait to try some of that beer, Bri... mmmmmmmmm... beeeeer.

I'm kind of feeling in a cooking mood. I will also make some chili. I'll bring my crock pot, and an extra pot in case. I'll bring some cheddar cheese, sour cream and maybe some cornbread/muffins depending on how badly the kids have beaten me down by Friday. Also got a mix and match cooler of beer coming up (22oz yuenglings, homebrew stout (brothers) and other what nots) and of course what ever bourbon is left over from making the chili
So excited for my first game of the year.
Hammb, Got you message, thanks for the advice.
