Listening to the team sing We Ready before they run through the tunnel is pretty sweet. I don't think they did that till 2003, or is my memory faulty?

Speaking of game day music, many folks were skeptical about music during the game and I had mentioned how great that concept worked at Wisconsin, although what they have is much more organized. It was truly impressive and it was great to witness in person. I still think the music is a good idea, but it just needs to be organized with student involvement. From the top 10 list of College Football traditions,
7. Wisconsin’s “Jump Around”
College football is one big party, and no school is better at letting loose than Wisconsin, ranked the number one party school in the nation by The Princeton Review. Adding to the raucous excitement of game day in Madison is the relatively new tradition of making Camp Randall Stadium one big house party after the third quarter of every game. As soon as the quarter ends, the song Jump Around by House of Pain blares over the loudspeakers, and the entire student section, along with the band and many others around the stadium and on the sidelines, jump up and down. The tradition became so wild that there were concerns about the effects on the stadium’s structure. Engineers eventually determined there was no danger, and now the upper deck shaking, human-induced earthquake goes on.

Wisconsin's Jump around is cool. But it is a tradition that is handed down. I know they have to start somewhere! But just playing random music and expecting kids to understand is strange. One thing Wisconsin has is A PA ANNOUNCER WITH SOME PIZZAZZ! If our guy would get "into it" with the kids and say "hey it's the 3rd quarter let's rock the Doyt" (don't hold your breath!)...maybe we would start something too.
I just think the band looked really surprised at the canned music playing so much. I personally missed the band.
If you want the kids to get excited....let the band play the "HEY" song. But we don't do that here.......
That's just my first 2 cents!

The band is cool, but if you are looking for something to get major involvement from all of the students, it's going to take some extremely popular song that they all just go nuts about. As for that tradition being handed down, it wasn't exactly handed down because the song came out in 2000. This is something they started in the recent past and it caught on so much that it is already a top ten tradition. It just goes to show that traditions can still be started and at what better time than right now when we BG has a must see explosive football team.
