Nick's Picks for Week #6 MAC football are now live on VanDelaySports.com. Along with tonight's great Miami @ NIU match-up the division leader in the MAC West (EMU @ Toledo) and the division leaders in the MAC East (Ohio @ Bowling Green) face off in key battles.

I agree with what Nick says... I think it will be a close game.. but I will be surprised if it's that close....

I think this is an intriguing match-up. The winner is in a great spot in the MAC East with at least a 1 game lead on everyone and 2 games in the loss column vs. Miami.

Bleed:

Please, please, please get someone to proofread Nick's stuff.
Two of Army's losses have come against ranked teams - No. 19 Boston College and No. 22 Iowa State - as well as Baylor and UConn
Incredibly awkward construction makes it sound like Baylor and/or UConn may have been ranked. Better to say "...No. 22 Iowa State. The other losses came against Baylor and UConn."
The is a game with two evenly matched teams. Army has lost two games to BCS teams that they had a shot to beat while Central has played better on the road this season in Kelly’s 2 nd season. I am picking the ‘Chips but Army could just as easily win this game.
It's Kelly's 2nd not 2 nd season, though it's better to just spell it out - second.

And what is with the apostrophe before Chips?
Series: Maryland leads 5-0 ... the Terps won last year 45-22 ... the teams also met every year from 1997-2000.
The way the last sentence is written, the teams didn't play at all between 1997-2000. They almost played.

Should read: The teams met almost every year from 1997-2000. Although a good editor would say "just tell the reader how many times they met in that span!" i.e. "they played three out of four years from 1997-2000."
Owls' senior RB Omar Ferguson rushed for a career-high 132 yards on 18 carries last week at Bowling Green
It's Umar Ferguson. We all know who Omar is.
This game could go either way but Akron has more talent, pick the Zips.
Either put "so" after the comma or change the comma to a period and start a new sentence.
------
You get the point.

Apparently there have been some errors in the grammer, spelling, etc. this week. I will try to do a better job of proofreading the future picks and recaps for Nick. Sorry about that everyone!

Ok. I have updated and edited some of the errors that have been pointed out. Thank you for the fine-tooth comb that you all have provided.

"but Ohio has the defensive backs to give Omar Jacobs fits."

Since when does the 100th ranked pass defense give Omar fits?
