Rumor at Boise State is that there is going to be a 2 year extension to the current series. Can anyone here confirm this?

The series is not extened with BGSU, but with the MAC, i believe you will have a visit from the Rockets and we will play Hawai or Fresno with NIU playing the other...this is what I heard in the rumor mill, with a potential redesign of the Motor City Bowl to compliment the GMAC, and that this year both events will take place at Ford Field.

Very interesting.... I wonder how it will all play out. I really like the realtionship that the teams from the WAC and MAC seem to building. It has been so hard for Boise and Fresno to get home and home games with good competition. Hawaii has no problem getting good teams to come to the Island.

Is there a possible bowl tie-in attached to relationship? A MAC champ vs WAC champ would be as good as the old Liberty Bowl with the CUSA champ vs the MWC champ.

Do BGSU fans like the sounds of this? I'm sure that you will all be glad to get a shot at BSU in your place next year. :D

I, for one, do like the sounds of that. If the BCS idiots won't play fair, there is no reason that our respective (and respected!) conferences shouldn't play fair with each other! I think the bowl game sounds even more exciting. The MCB is fun, but it could be a lot more interesting than playing the 15th place team from the El Grande Once.

And on a side note, THE GMAC IS GOING TO BE PLAYED IN DETROIT?!?!! WHHHHAAATT!?!?!?! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I REALLy wanted to go back to Mobile! That city is awesome, and they go balls to the wall for that bowl! Plus, there wasn't the ever-present threat of being shot in the face that there was in D-town... :(

If this turns out not to be true, MACMAN is on my shitlist. That is NOT something to be throwing around lightly!

Seriously, though, Mobile is that cool. For those of you that did not make the trip last year (shame on you!), I'm sure many who did would back me up on this.

I am sure that this "Rumor" makes too much sence to possibly have any credence.

I do know that BSU (BSU2 to you guys) has future home and homes set with Miami (OH) and Toledo. Seems kinda strange but the we used to have a lot of home and homes with the MWC, and now most of them will not schedule us.

The MWC see themselves as above the WAC even though they are 0-9 vs BSU. We do still have a 1-1 with Wyoming starting next year but Utah dropped us from their schedule and BYU decided to re-up the series.

Top to bottom the MWC is stronger, but in truth the top of the WAC can compete with the top of any non-BCS conference. I know the top of the MAC has produced some very strong teams as well. :D

You would have to guess that there would be a strong likelyhood of the MAC and WAC champs both coming into a bowl as a ranked team. That should be a pretty strong draw, and likely the best best opportunity either of our conferences may have for exposure. :D JMOHO

If this is true, then I've got a feeling that is a one year deal due to Hurricane Katrina.

I do believe BGSU and BSU2 have agreed to another home-and-home deal for something like '09 & '10.

Nice! I haven't used that one in awhile. Though I suppose this is the perfect opportunity to drop in the brand new "Miami(1-2)" reference...

I would be in favor of these games if they were not played on week nights on the other side of the country. It's just walking into a hornets nest every time.

This is the worst thread ever.

Fact: The Blade, in its college football preview, reported that Bowling Green and Boise State are exploring a second home-and-home.

Fact: They've been playing high school football at Ladd-Peebles Stadium since the very first weekend after Katrina.
