Of all the road trips, in terms of the fans, venue, and town, what is the worst in the MAC?

BALL STATE!
how are they not on the list? I cant begin to state how much of a pit Muncie, IN. is. Just driving on their swiss cheese roads, bacn3's car was broken TWICE. Not only that, but their even staff is horrid. At the 2002-03 MAC bball tourney we went there for the 1st round game. The arena is baren, hardly any fans, the 8 BG student(or student aged people such as myself) drowned out the BSU crowd the whole game. Anyways, we moved back several rows(to a 100% empty row) to sit with out buddy that came up from Cincinnati. The usher actually cehcked out tickets, no joke. He said, "these aren't your seats". After verifying that he was not kidding......

we began to move back to our seat, which are BETTER than were we were, much closer to the court. AS we go, the usher stops us, "you can't sit down there". WHAT? he was not kiddign this time either....
We were forced to sit in another section in the back row. He sat us right behind some nice old ladies, which we are sure was an attempt to get us to be less enthused in the game, and less vocal. Not only that, btu he went and got a whole mess of kids, and hed them sit behind us on the railing. THe whole time they are kickign our seats and jsut being dumb little kids really. One of my most memorable quotes came from this, a kid, loud enough for us to hear, but not really speaking to us, said "Bowling Green State? Bowling Green isn't even a state! how stupid!"
YOUR TEAM IS
BALL STATE YOU DUMB KID! BALL ISNT A STATE EITHER!
At this point we had been talking to the nice old ladies in front of us(BSU fans). Who were just the best people i'd met. They sorta made up for a lot of the crap that was happening. They were even upset that they[ushers] had treated us this way, and I think they even said somethign to him if I remember correctly.
Eventually we crushed them and is was awesome. I have never seen Netter as pumped as he was then. The whole team was bouncing off the walls as they exited the arena, high-fiving and cheering with the few but proud BG fans to make the trip.
It was one of the best road trips as far as BG goes, but that had nothign to do with the location or fans, more the fact that we won, and we were happy, and the team clearly appreciated us being there. Muncie is an awful place to go though, but we are better than them at most sports, so the outcome of a BSU roadtrip is usually in our favor.

I have not made trips to Buffalo, Marshall or UCF. That being said, I agree that I always dreaded the Ball State trips. Northern would be second, followed by Mount (Not-So-)Pleasant, MI.

Kent read, Kent write, Kent State. The town is nice enough. The squirrels are these odd black creatures that they apparently imported from Canada. (they had a few pair from Canada for a study and then they just turned them loose). The stadium is dull, the fans are nonexistant and the concessions are worse than the stuff we have at the Doyt.
I haven't been to a game at Buffalo. Maybe I should hold off on making a firm decision until I do.

I didn't put them on it, because the system doesn't allow for that many options.
We'll have a run-off later.

It does now... I upped it to 25 choices.

I vote for Kent State.
I saw a game there back in '94. Place was virtually empty. I sat on the visiting side -- which consisted of ratty wooden bleachers about a dozen rows high. Place was so quiet you could hear BG coaches screaming this and that at players. It was not a pleasant experience.
I can see why people are suggesting Buffalo. But I've seen two games there, and it may be one of the better stadiums in the MAC. It's almost new, with with loads of chairback seats and really nice luxury boxes. The only two downsides are the track and the way they piled bleachers in the end zones to get capacity over 30,000 (back when that was important).
Both times I was there (vs. Bowling Green, 2000, and vs. Lafayette, 2002), the crowds were actually pretty good. It helps that the way the stadium is built, it doesn't take a whole lot of people to fill the lower deck of each sideline.

Hmmm...can't comment on NIU or UCF cuz I never made those trips.
I'd have to say WMU....the fans are ok but it is one heck of a drive from Akron and the "parking" there is horrible. 2nd would be CMU...their fans are down right Aholes for the most part. The worst treatment I've ever seen of visiting fans. Yet, I shall venture there to Mt Not So Pleasant again this year. Nothing like kicking their tails after the treatment they dished out.
I must give Marshall the nod

I really have to say that Marshall is the worst trip. The drive isn't all that bad if you are taking a road trip with friends, but once you get there, there isn't a whole lot to do. They have two decent bars. But as far as the town and fans, they are definitely the rudest I have encountered. They are aweful. Second place would have to go to WMU. There field is like a cow pasture. I remember when we played there in '98, it looked like the cows had been out there all night and tore up the field.

I will agree! When the band went down there a few years back I realized their fans have no respect for anyone. I doubt I will ever venture down there again.
