I cannot say enough about how our defense played. Now, I realize this was Ohio and their offense has struggled. But our defense looked aggressive. The linemen and linebackers seemed like they were moving to the ball the whole game. Devon Parks was a monster! And I've been openly critical of Jelani Jordan, but the man played a great game Saturday. He had one pick and could have easily had two.

This is not the same defense that got torched by Boise State & Wisky.

I know Bobcat fans were hyped up about their "ballhawking" defense, but Omar's interception was simply a bad throw, not a great (or even good) defensive play. Omar was good, but if he were "in the zone," we might have hung 70 on them again.

Am I the only one who thought Solich basically threw in the towel? The Bobcats just didn't seem to play with any urgency from the end of the third quarter on.

We are in a GREAT position now. We just need to stay focused on the game at hand and not look ahead.

I swear I read somewhere that he had two. One on the goalline, and one later in the game, with a 20 or so yard return....

After Ohio recovered a kickoff with 45 seconds left in the half, BG senior cornerback Jelani Jordan picked off a pass at the two-yard line ... Jordan later added an interception in the fourth quarter to give him two straight games with two picks ... he now has four this season and eight in his career.

The box score says two, so I'm with TG on this one, I guess, though I certainly can't remember two.

Then again, I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning.

Since I know that isn't going to come out lined up correctly... that says 2 int's for 42 yards. I was there, yes, he did indeed have two. One at the goal line and another that was the result of a bad throw, due to their QB getting hit as he let go.

I thought in my head TG was implying Omar threw 2 picks. I see what I was reading and remember specifically Jelani's two INTs.


I apologize and I admit to drinking my morning coffee from Knightstown. I have it shipped in.

To build on the observations at the beginning of the thread, I thought the defense played very well and more importantly showed improvement. Getting torched at the beginning of the year could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the defense because it seems to have created a sense of urgency to get better. We need a better defense to beat Miami on the road and Toledo, both of whose offenses are pretty darn good. We need a better defense to win the MAC title.

In my humble opinion, the beating Wisconsin and Boise would be short-term ego trips and should be treated as such. The real source of pride and the foundation for long-term success of the program will be championship banners.

I have been so proud of our Defense since Saturday. I feel like (although I didn't get to see the game ) they are really starting to come into their own, and being led there by the much-maligned seniors. Plus, they are finally starting to justify my my insistence upon capitalization of the letter "D" in Defense.
