While lurking on bobcatattack reading the post-game threads, I came across these comments ...
At this stage, BG had more talent/size/speed than OU did. As the Solich era progresses, this BG advantage should shift towards neutrality or an OU advantage.
emphasis mine, of course
A reponse to the above comment ...
I think you'll a big difference in BG's size advantage next year.

I don't know the size of OU's defense , I going to guess that we might be a tad bit bigger and probably more athletic and probably have more speed. One thing I notices is that after several OU offensive lineman went down , we got better pressure on their qb and by the 3rd and 4th qtr. we had qb pressure on nearly all of their passing situations. I think OU might have had up to 3 starting O-lineman go out with injuries. I'm just saying that might have scewed things just a smidgen.

How do you explain us stopping them on the first drive of the game? Is it possible our D-Line was the better line and were able to stop OU?

In 3 years when his new recruits are playing in some force we will see what he has done...its not so much the size of the player, any one can recruit big slow guys that lumber along...but recruiting those top 10% to 20% ers that are big and athletic is where the difference is...BG has more of them.
Solich....

Being a defensive minded coach to begin with he might in a few years get some better defensive players. I'm sure Lovett will be in a few recruiting wars with Solich for certain players. I keep forgetting Solich was fired not after several losing season but after several decent ones with 9-2 or 10-2 like seasons, seems as though that just wasnt good enough for Nebraska fans since they wern't gettting to the national championship soon enough. Talk about high expectations.
