My favorite place to drink beer in BG is BW-3.
That said, now that it is under new ownership the new owner believes beer should be kept 5 degrees warmer than the previous ownership. This is very noticeable and to me the beer is always warm there now

I know some folks love BW-3s, SOB, Cassidy's, and however many more names that place has had. They used to have the coaches show over there for a time. The twerp running the joint couldn't figure out not to annouce food being read over the PA mid-show.

Does Campus Polleyes still have the large number of imports like they did back in the early 90's?
I like a good wheat so I voted for sEaslystreet. The others were mass distributions for what's cheap. SamB's believes high prices is the only factor that will lead to a superior image. $6-8.00 for a glass of table wine on diner style chairs and a clueless waiter(ess). Pathetic.

I use to stay out at BW's...but since they change everything around and now it's gay...doesn't anyone else have a problem with the "new management?"

It is absolutely HORRIBLE!
We still go there out of habit's sake, but not nearly as often as we used to. We now travel up to the one on Dussel quite a bit, because its so nice.
The new management has ruined BW3, IMO as well. They keep the beer warm now. They never have the games on that you want them to. And they ran of their best manager that always did a great job behind the bar. One of the biggest reasons she left was the beer temp. issue, she got tired of apologizing for warm beer.

the one on dussel is nice. I go there frequently, 1470 the ticket broadcasts a daily show from there too (the front row, 4-6pm)

For whatever reason I never remember Howard's. I've been in there once, and it was enough that I've never wanted to go in there again.

It's sad to hear the state that BW's is in. That was always the best place to start the evening on the weekends when I was in school. We would ALWAYS go there to start the night. I guess when I come back for homecoming this year, I will have to find another spot. That really sucks. But oh well, what can we do?

I like the food, but can't recall any difference with anything else that has ever been served there. The locals that I advised Junior Achievement with after first getting to BG were high on it, pre-BW3. I marvel at how little has actually changed there after 12 years.

I like Trotter's because they have Boddington's on tap.
Junction has a decent selection and if you are lucky you'll get someone who knows how to pur a proper pint of Guinness.

I always enjoyed Brewster's. Decent selection of draft beers available, usually quiet, no young'ins allowed, and billards, air-hockey and shuffleboard available. Oh, and free popcorn.
