Found this on the Toledo board

As much as I hate Toledo I found this thread very funny. I love the Doyt, but it's crumbling right before our eyes and something needs to be done about it.

I contributed to the thread and before anyone accusses me of "sleeping with the enemy" or some such, let me say that if you can't have some fun with a rivalry, then you don't have much of a sense of humor.

Toledo has one of the nicest stadiums in the MAC.

BG, well, it's not the worst but quickly is moving down the list. When was the last time a good deal of money was put into renovation (other than Sebo)?

I'm pretty sure adding the elevators to the boxes on either side is the extent to which anything structural/aesthetic has been done to the stadium since it was built. A renovation is long, long overdue.

We had orange bench seating before some of you young 'uns enrolled. That was gradually replaced a couple of years ago.

Also, the rails were painted a couple years back.

We got the new scoreboard/videoboard.

Finally, the phrasing "(other than Sebo)" strikes me as dismissive. Sebo is a big deal.

Thank God for OU's and the Rubber Bowl....there worse than hours and Kent didn't even have a visitors side when Logan and I were their last...2002.

Trolling a UT board? Good luck...the waters of New Orleans are more sanitary.

TU envies our indoor practice facility and non-inner-city campus environment, so they massively embellish a relatively minor occurance on our facility that was quickly rectified. IMO, their canned criticisms about our colors being "ugly" and such don't deserve to be dignified.

I think that its kind of funny that the poster over here that accused you of "sleeping with the enemy" actually posts more on the Rockets board than he does on the Falcons board.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

That was pretty funny Joe, you even tried to sound serious! LOL!

The Sebo isn't going to replace crumbling concrete.

The panels were removed.

Agree completely with that. The Sebo will be nice, but it's not really IN the stadium. It's just next to it. It won't improve the other problems with the Doyt. I really do love it, I just wonder why the stadium isn't a big priority for renovations. We're getting a ton of press, important people are coming here (Trev Alberts for one... :P) and our stadium should sell and look as good as our team. The new scoreboard is great, but the TV board isn't nearly big enough, and the camera shots are taken from so far away that you can barely see the replays. There ARE changes being made, but not enough. The stadium is looking old...it IS old. Some changes should be made since our team is doing so well. The team is a product, and therefore the stadium is also. The team is selling, but the stadium isn't helping any. Love the Doyt, but things have to happen, and soon.

For each of theses "little" things they update by the time they do it 5 more things need to be updated. DLP is in need of lots of work and sprucing up a few rails and seats does little to the overlying problem. The whole money subject gets a little touchy around here but like someone else said our stadium needs to be modernized. I know I am just preaching to the choir.

I agree, OU's stadium has undergone some recent renovations and their stadium is very nice, very classy.
