I'm don't like this headline, a week after Elton's highlight of Omar this article makes no mention of BG leading the East, only Miami controls their own destiny, blah, blah, blah...with one game of help.
Miami holds on to East

What's the best position to play from: as an underdog, or with your back against the wall?
We'll find out Saturday as the Miami RedHawks, for the second straight season, must play with their backs against the wall from here on out if they hope to win a third straight MAC East Division title.
Miami already has two league losses, but none has come against MAC East Division opponents. By winning all their East games, and with one game worth of help along the way, the RedHawks can still win the division via head-to-head tiebreaker.
Last season, Miami lost its first MAC East game to rival Marshall but won the rest in the division, and Marshall lost twice. Coach Shane Montgomery said the key now is to just take care of business.
"The first thing you've got to do is what you need to do," he said. "Fundamentals. Make sure you're doing the right things to make plays. We've talked about our goals are not over. The main thing we tried to stress, and the players need to know, is we can't look ahead."
Upon further review:
Ohio University coach Frank Solich said his team may have regressed a bit in a 38-14 loss at Bowling Green.
Despite recovering the ball at Bowling Green's 4 to start the game, partially blocking one punt, completely blocking another and recovering a pooch kick-- all in the first half -- OU could only muster seven points and trailed, 14-7.
"We had opportunities to put ourselves in position to make that a game, and possibly have a chance to win," Solich said. "But we did not execute on either side of the ball to get it done. The game should have been tied at halftime, at the worst."
Sobering news:
MAC officials are still buzzing over the announcement last week that Kent State President Carol Cartwright will resign once her successor is in place. Her 15-year tenure has included a growing influence behind the scenes in the MAC and NCAA, including stints as a member of the prestigious Knight Commission and as a member of the NCAA board.
"It's a loss to the conference and to the NCAA," KSU Athletic Director Laing Kennedy said. "She has been [NCAA president] Myles Brand's right hand."
