Another Coach Brandon Thread

Just sitting here thinking and came up with the following questions:
Can anyone honestly say that we have lost a game that we should have definitely won in his coaching stint?
Has he ever lost a game we were favored in?
How many other MAC coaches can you say that about? Can't say it about Amstutz, Montgomery or Novak over that same time frame.
His losses:
@ OSU
@ Miami
Miami - MACC
@ Oklahoma
@ NIU
@ Toledo
@ Wisconsin
@ Boise State
The only games we may have been favored in was the MACC and at NIU and that certainly would not have been by much!

The Phil Steele magazine includes the lines from each game over the last 5 years, so I can check for sure when I get home, but I think we were favored in the UT game last year and possibly at NIU. We were 7 or 10 point dogs in the MACC to Miami, mainly due to the fact that we got waxed in Oxford 4 weeks prior.

@Toledo last year we definitely were favored. I'd also say we had a better offense than Wisconsin.

Lost a game we should have won. Yes, 2004 Toledo. It may have been a slight favorite or a pick 'em....but after halftime, we took our boot off their neck and allowed them to breath.

A good coach gets his team to win games they are supposed to lose. That is what makes them good coaches.

My point is that we have not lost to a CMU at home, or a BSU or a Akron on the road under his tenure.
A good coach should NEVER lose to inferior competition either then, right?
And what would all you arm-chair coaches have done to keep Scooter and Brian Calhoun from running all-over us in the two of those losses we possibly could have won?
Sometimes you just need tip your cap to the other team for being better on that day.

I agree.
However, the Boise game ticks me off. It's not that we lost it was how we lost.

Only one win on the road against a team with a winning record. Sometimes, YOU"RE supposed to be the better team that gets the hat tip!

What should have we done at Wisconsin.. how about putting 8 in the box and keying on Calhoun since he got the ball about 90-percent of the time in the second half.
Prove we can stop him on a couple of drives.. and they are forced to pass again.. instead of just running it into the ground..
Not really that hard to figure out..
