Hey everybody. I'm new, and a big Omar Jacobs fan. I'm actually a Syracuse Orange fan, but an admirer of great college players everywhere. I'm making a 2 hour hike up to watch Omar take on Buffalo tomorrow, and afterward hopefully get a picture with him. I would like to take advantage while I'm there as much as possible though, so I wanted to ask a knowledgable group of Bowling Green fans who the future NFL guys are. Or the up-and-comers if you will, that I should keep an eye out for. I'm hoping Omar is a nice guy though cause I imagine he'll get mobbed since Buffalo fans rarely ever get big-time players there like that lol Any help is appreciated. First off, welcome. I don't know about NFL prospects, since the draft process is so fickle anymore, but you'll probably naturally keep an eye on the two senior receivers, Charles Sharon (#1) and Steve Sanders (#12). PJ Pope (#33) might have what it takes to catch on in the NFL someday, but he's been battling injuries and may not even play at UB this weekend. The O-line is anchored by Kory Lichtensteiger (#78, just a soph, but already a stud) and senior Rob Warren (#58).

On defense, it's kind of hit and miss this year. We've had more than our share of down games, but those that were at the Ohio U. game last week came back with stories of guys playing possessed on defense. If I had to pick one guy out of that group, though, to make the leap, it would probably be Antonio Smith (#38) a true freshman that's made quite a name for himself in just five college games. (And the lapses in coverage still have three and a half years to get ironed out.)

Thanks alot for the reply. I will keep an eye out for those guys. I just wasn't sure if you had any really good skill position players that just aren't gewtting exposure right now because they're behind on the depth chart.

As for Palko, he's having a down year, but I still like him. I know he probably looks bad among those other QBs, but the word I hear is that he's probably no worse than a day 1 pick whenever he decides to enter the NFL and that's usually a good spot to land for QBs, so he's gotta be doing something right.

That wasn't his best performance, but Omar is hands down one of my favorite players n college football from long before the Buffalo game, so it was an honor to get to watch him in an emptry stadium and then meet him afterward. Even though he wasn't as nice as I heard he was, and seemed to be in a rush.

Well, if some of the stories we've heard in various articles are true, Omar is usually the last one out of the locker room after a game. Apparently he just takes a long time to shower and change and the team ends up waiting on him. I imagine that may have been the case, but who knows? I've met Omar before. He is one of the nicest athletes you'll ever meet (though he is no Jordan Sigalet or Josh Harris).

He was pretty cool. I mean I'm sure I caught him at a bad time on the road after one of his worst games, but he still signed a ball, an NFL cap and an 8x10 photo for me and took a pic with me. I already have $30 invested in the cube holder for the ball and a hat protector for the cap. I don't go to sports cards shops much but damn, their stuff is expensive. I didn't think those 2 items of protection would cost more than the trip itself lol

Seems pretty nice to me considering he signed three items and took a picture with you. Sorry you couldn't take him home with you.

Yeah, I'm gay so I would have liked that? I don't know where you're going that, but it actually took more like 3 hours to get there so I'm sorry that I actually had a couple of items ready to go. He had to signs a few things for like 2 other people there too so he's your average saint signing about 10 autographs before getting on the bus.
