Time to Talk Smack

Post by Sooner313 »

It's almost time to start the football season. Congrats on a good season last year.

We in Soonerland are looking forward to another great season and wish you well except on 9/4 of course.

Thought you might be interested to get links to a couple of our message boards where you can come talk to us about the upcoming game or ask questions about the Norman/OKC area if you are coming to the game.

If you guys have any other message boards we should know about, please let us know as well.

I have friends in the Cleveland and Columbus areas and have been met with nothing but hopitality when I have visited Ohio. I think you will find the same to be true in Oklahoma.

Dang, now I want an Italian sausage calazone from Vincenzo's.

[smack mode]]You're going to looooooosssssseee! We're going to hang 50 on your D! White is going to be on his back most of the game![/smack mode]

Greetings friend, and welcome aboard.

Actually, this is going to be interesting game. I have OU by 14 simply because their size on both sides of the lines and specifically the depth at the o-line.

We will score, but how often will be up to Omar Jacobs not being intimidated and just playing the offensive system. It will also depend on how creative Stud (offensive coor) will be with the running game. I will also be interested to see how his play calling has developed after having a year under his belt.

Defense should be fairly solid other than losing some good LBs to graduation. Front line and secondary appear to be solid. The defensive coordinator (Beckman) is a student of the game and does a very good job at catering the defense to a particular opponent.

My heart wants the falcons to win, but my brain tells me the opposite will be true.

I have been lurking over in theinsiders board for a while. Mostly a classy bunch. I'll post as game time nears.

I have a ton of respect for Bob Stoops as a coach. He has returned Sooner football to the elite in impressive fashion. Obviously we would love to see BG win...and to do so, we must play a perfect game. Mistakes, penalties and turnovers are the difference between BG having a shot and trying to make it out of Norman alive. We made those mistakes in Columbus last year and it cost us a possible huge win over Ohio State.

The Sooners are loaded...pure and simple. The Falcons are loaded as well. First game for both teams...I do love the fact BG is playing the biggest names in the game! BG is a solid program again and I feel the Falcons can play with just about anyone.

OK should be playing for the national title this yr...will be a heck of a challenge for the orange and brown.

GO FALCONS!!!! 39...
