Did this help Scott M with San Diego?

Post by FALCON FLIER »

Do you think the trade of Offensive Guard Toniu Fonoti by the San Diego Chargers bodes well for Scott? Fonoti was a first-round pick but I don't know if he was a starter for the Chargers. Hopefully, it will mean more playing time.

I don't think it hurts him, but it probably doesn't help much either. It's kind of surprising SD would deplete their offensive line depth, but perhaps they're moving Wes Simms up from the practice squad.

Fonoti was the starter at left guard to start the season, but he has been inactive the last four games with a broken hand. I believe Kris Dielman took over the starting position at LG. Scott's been listed all year as the back up at RG and C. Who knows though, perhaps he's now the number one backup at LG as well now.

According to the official Chargers website, Scott's now #2 at both guard spots as well as #3 at center.

If Mike Goff is unable to go this weekend at RG, Scott will likely be the starter againt the Eagles.
