Is anyone making the trip next weekend? I know a bus is going up, but is there anywhere to meet?
My daughter and I are flying in on Friday to spend the weekend with my son that lives in Chicago. Our flight gets in mid-afternoon and we are probably going to grab something to eat then head to the game since we will probably be hitting Chicago rush hour by the time we get there.
I was not lucky enough to attend our last game at NI, but have heard all the horror stories. Any suggestions about what to avoid? I think I will leave the tootsie rolls at home.
If anyone wants to meet somewhere, I would appreciate it. Strength in numbers

Take a hard hat!!!!! Bottles and everything else were being thrown into the BG section last time, and then their police tried to get our parents for throwing candy!!!!!!
I believe they have moved the visiting section now, but I still wouldn't expect an "Oklahoma" welcome.

We're driving out Thursday night and staying in Chicago, then heading to Dekalb late Friday morning/early afternoon. The BG section is on the opposite side of the field from where it was last time (away from the students), so that should take care of some of the problem if it still exists. There was alot of stuff thrown into our section by their students and we were all verbally harassed when we left, but I saw people in the BG section throwing things too and yelling back and forth with their students. Last year after the players walked through tent city, I heard obscenities being yelled at NIU fans also. The point is that they had quite a few bad apples in Dekalb, but for us to act like we had approx. 25,000 angels rooting on the Falcons last year at the Doyt is ridiculous too. Every school has their bad apples and, unfortunately, we tend to remember them as opposed to the true, sportsman-like fans. Hopefully the actual game will be the topic of discussion after the game and not the actions of the fans.

Love to make the trip but I have to work Friday. Plus, with all the construction going on and a 10 hour drive, I'll watch it at home. Won't make the Temple game either but then it's 9 straight games!

Of course that includes the MACC and Bowl game.

I must have been really lucky two years ago, because we never experienced anything out of the ordinary and we were sitting in the BG section. Maybe it was because we were in the front of it, but I still never saw anything close to what a lot of you guys put up with it. I actually had conversations with NIU students after the game.

BGFan and FindlayFalcon are taking the Falcon Club bus over. They have also signed up for the Pre-Game event through the Alumni Association. It only costs $10, starts at 5 in the NIU Tent City. Contact Lori Shields at
[email protected] for reservations.
Unfortunately with it being on a Friday, I cannot attend :wah: but I will watch for you, Hartmom, on TV!!! ....uh... and I will look for BGFan and FindlayFalcon too!!!!

Of course we won't make fun of a guy in a wheelchair, but you go to UT - we'll make fun of you for a long time! Although, once you get your UT diploma, then you can put it on the front dash of your car and legally park in the handicapped spaces.

Now I'm just getting angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!
Toledo can take my money, but they will take
nothing else from me.
I had no choice in this matter, it was either suffer now, and buy and sell a bunch of chumps later, or spend more money than I could possibly muster and go out of state to school, cuz I'll be damned if I'm going to osu. I can deal with UT, but I think I would be in jail after about a week on campus there. Aren't you glad I didnt do that?!? I did apply here:
http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail26.html but I failed the art test.
That being said, Toledo can catch on fire and burn into a steaming stinking pile of gorrilla poop. I hate it, and only go there when absolutly critical, hence why I attended class 3 times in 2 semesters of physics.
