We all know AT needs to step up big Saturday, but here are a few other players that must do the same.

Our receiving corps: From what I've read, we came down with a case of the dropsies Saturday (among other problems). A young QB needs receivers to catch everything in sight. Corey is still hurt, MParks is out. In addition to the Dynamic Duo (Sanders & Sharon), Ruiz, Lett, Brantley and O'Drobinak need to have big days.

Far be it from me to be an Untrue fan, a gloomy gus, a whiny bitch, a guy who's lost sight of the fact that we're still in first, or God forbid, a dick....but the quotes form yesterday's presser have me a bit concerned.

Here we are in late October and members of our defensive squad are talking about a need to focus or refocus....what the hell? It's OCTOBER..the last thing you should be worrying about at this point is your "focus"....if you're that far off in your mental approach at this juncture you are likely in for a world of hurt.

Seriously, I'm concerned, too. It seems that the team has a problem maintaining focus throughout an entire season. Their focus seems to ebb and flow. They seemed totally tuned in for the Wisky game, then out of place against Boise. They were tuned in against Ohio & Temple, but obviously fell asleep against WMU. I think that's a disturbing pattern; great teams, good teams even, tend to be dialed in week in and week out.

That being said, I believe they will be tuned in for Akron.

And that is ultimatly a coaches responsibility. He's failed in this regard in my opinion.

As someone who has followed Falcon football since I was a kid, I actually believe this is a turning point game for the program. For those of you who remember back in 1994 when we lost to Central Michigan the last game of the season (CMU fake punt for a TD, etc.), we were never really the same after that game. The next year Ryan Henry came out and threw 5 or 6 INT's against La Tech and it was downhill from there until 2001.

Something is wrong with this team compared to the past 4 years - don't know if it is chemistry, lack of leadership, complacency, or some other instability in the coaching staff or what. I hope we find our soul for Sat's game. A win will show this team has character and it will show our program is really sustainable. If we don't win this one, we could very well go in the tank and end up 5-6 or 4-7. I am praying hard for a win!

I can't make the game this Saturday but will be listening on the radio. I'll be cheering loudly but someone who is going make up for my absence.
