GM could be financially challenged after next weeks rumored Bankruptcy filling. I doubt this will have any immediate bowl implications, but could affect the future sponsorship. Yet I am sure that another company would pick this bowl up far before it went away.

gmac is, and has been, the only part of gm that makes money consistently. there is no danger of gmac not sponsoring the bowl game.

I used to work for GMAC....that's why they're profitable. They cut the dead weight (actually I quit...but it sounded funnier the other way)

But the word needs to get out to the students to get out to the game. It sounds like they may be using it as a way to measure crowds and expected revenue for the Bowl game. The more revenue they get from the bowl game the more loans they can make to have more repos to clog up the used car market.

(It's an autofinance thing)

Anyway it would be like GMAC to pull some sort of shuffle to get the right teams with the right participation.

by the way, i'm pretty sure that they do this every year. they visit every mac venue, and probably c-usa venue, and put out that big tarp with the bullseye on it and play some sort of game at halftime. campus qualifiers then take part in some sort of a final match in mobile. it just looks as though it's been expanded to a two day rather than one day event.

They were at Buffalo this year and played a game where each person had to put on pads, a jersey, and helmet. First person done wins. Still not very creative, but more humorous than bocci ball with a football.

Correct. They were at Toledo earlier this year.

They've been doing this for a couple of years now. My buddy won the event that was held at BG back in 2001. Which is kinda funny since the lady orginally wanted me to go out and do it. Oh well it was funnier watching Brad in his cape go out and win!
