Can you hit rock bottom and still be in first place?
Can you hit rock bottom and still be in first place?
To answer my own question, and sum up where BG stands right now.....yes.

If what we experienced the last two weeks isn't rock bottom, then what is? Because it feels the same to me as it did when we lost to Buffalo a few years ago, except we were actually more competitive in that game and lost by only three points on the road to a bad team, not by 31 and 10 points at home.orangeandbrown wrote:What makes you think this is rock bottom? Having been involved in some really futile efforts in my time, this can still get a lot worse.

I see where you're going, but nothing is 'guaranteed' in MAC-play. Proof: BSU beat NIU today.jeremyp wrote:Losing to Kent is rock bottom because it'll guarantee losses to Miami and Toledo.

Steady on chaps, stiff upper lip and all that. The Big Ten, as reported elsewhere on these boards, beats up on itself all the time. Why can't the MAC?
If anyone's feeling bad today, props go to NIU. Temple will be acclaiming what amounts to more or less (give me some lattitude on this) their narrowest losing margin this year to Miami, and the Racket got stuffed somewhere in Michigan.
This is college sports, anything can happen, usually does at BG, and that's why your team needs you even more than its coaches right now!
Nothing wrong with feeling like we've got a divine right to win every week, but about the time we start acting like that its time to buy season tickets at Ohio Stadium.

Eh, give 'em a little (a very little, I suppose) credit.... this would have only been a 3-point game. The last seven points were practically gimmes because we failed to convert on a fourth down deep in our own territory.BGSU33 wrote:If what we experienced the last two weeks isn't rock bottom, then what is?
