What is it with Akron & goal line stands at BG?

Akron has now won its last two games at BG, and both times, they stopped us with goal line stands. In 2000, they won 27-21 and stopped on, what I remember, was four times from the one. Then yesterday, they made another goal line stand, only then to execute a fourth and goal from the one on the other end themselves. The Zips have now beaten us three out of the last four meetings, including the last two games at BG.

in 2000 they stopped us 8 times on the goal line i think?
I think it was two times in a row they stopped us everytime all 4 downs

Exactly. BG had the ball first and goal at the Akron one TWICE in the 4th quarter of the 2000 game. Guess where Blackney ran the ball every time? Right up the middle. We were stuffed both times and lost by 6.
Akron has played us tough over the years. We only lead them 8-6 in the all time series now.

IIRC, there was a lot of sleet that day and the goal line had been rubbed away long before we got to that end of the field.
I think Gibby got in at least once...I think PJ got in before he fumbled.
I'm going to try and post a vidcap of that play tonight.
