Bowl Projections
I noticed a lot of 3-2 conference records. Does anyone have any idea what teams will be bowling, especially in Mobile? Thanks and hope to see y'all again! Roll Tide and Go Falcons!!

In a word -- nope.MobileBama wrote:I noticed a lot of 3-2 conference records. Does anyone have any idea what teams will be bowling, especially in Mobile? Thanks and hope to see y'all again! Roll Tide and Go Falcons!!
There are about 8 million different scenarios that could play out between the East and West over the next few games, not to mention the MACC. I would not bet on the Falcons making a return trip to Mobile unfortunately.

I haven't done the math, but that seems highly unlikely.jacojdm wrote:is it conceivable that the mac only sends one team to a bowl this year? i mean, the only team that has secured bowl eligibility is (gulp) ut. the way the rest of the league is performing, is it out of the realm of possibilty that we only send a representative to one of our two bowls?

In the MAC you can be bowl eligible all you want but that is not a guarantee for anything (see Akron 2004).
Toledo could, at this point, not even win the MAC West although I think they will. Only the MAC Champion is assured a Bowl, and usually #2 does as well. That is at least how it's been working for the past several years.
In fact I think MCB and GMAC Bowls even express their candidates as MAC 1/2. MAC Champ gets their choice, runner up gets the other bowl unless MAC Champ takes some at-large offer.
But finishing 9-2, 6-2 conference
doesn't get you in if someone else was 8-3, 7-1 in same division of the MAC.
Speaking of Toledo, Go Rockets!!! (This Friday only!) Because we have Bowl aspirations ourselves STILL!!
