What did you expect when Anthony Turner was injured and left the game?

I expected we'd see true Freshman Freddie Barnes enter the game as our 3rd string QB and thus lose his redshirt.

Was I ever surprised when Van Johnson entered the game instead. Looks like Coach Brandon is determined to keep the redshirts on our true Freshmen (except Lewis and Smith?).

I didn't see any additional injuries against Kent which might affect this situation. I'm glad Coach Brandon is staying tough about keeping redshirts on. This should help a lot next year.

By the way, I've seen a couple of posts saying that our recruiting the last couple of years has fallen off. I can't see that. Why do some of you think that way?

I feel that way because the performance of this team has fallen way off from the past three years. We've graduated a lot of defensive and offensive talent the past couple years and they have not been replaced very well.

As falconboy likes to harp on, we have not recruited the correct defensive talent for our system. Perhaps the most glaring recruiting deficiency is the lack of a legitimate placekicker when we've had three years to fill that void through recruiting.

Also, Brandon himself blamed our troubles on recruiting.
