Tent for UT???
I'm planning on getting a tent for the UT game... how many do you suppose I should expect? I was thinking of going w/ a smaller sized tent this go round... being the game is televised, late November, on a Tuesday night, etc...
Thoughts? Feedback??

I'd go with a smaller tent Grant. Seems to me that most people hang out on the outside and around the tent anyways, which would make it foolish to pay extra for more inside area.
As you said, with it being a weekday game I'm sure there are a lot of people who won't be able to tailgate for very long anyhow.

I'll be there with two or three friends!
What should we bring? We came to the tent last year, but this will be our first go-round this year.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Hey Grant-
YOu could just about fit the Akron crowd in a small tent so unless you want a lot of Rocket fans other than me, go small.
Seriously-I am planning on coming as now and will stop by since I have an invite. I will wear Blue and Gold but bring my Falcon Thundersticks just to confuse everyone.
Is there any talk of a sell out ( and I don't mean Urban's leaving for Utah)? I may get my tix as a walkup but will get them early if it looks like it will be sold out.

I doubt it will be a sellout before hand unless BG beats Miami and UT beats NIU. But with only 23,000 seats this year and the U holding 5,000+ for students there won't be much left either way...so I would not wait if I were you.h2oville rocket wrote:Hey Grant-

Great minds think alike, WH! I am also working a half day on the 22nd and taking the 23rd off. The Freaklings will be going to their first ever BG/UT game....taking them outta school early.Warthog wrote:I'm taking the afternoon off so I can be out early! Taking Wednesday off as well to recover from the celebration.
I think the smaller size would be fine for all the reasons you cited.
I am starting work at 7am that day and will be outta there by 11! We should be at the Doyt by 2:30-3:00. We will be heading back to Huron that night to have Thanksgiving with Mrs. Freak's parents on the 23rd. We will head home that evening and the next day I'm taking the Freaklings to the Akron/Kent game at the Rubber Bowl...10 AM kickoff! Why not?
I think a smaller tent would be the way to go. I'd like to bring the grill but don't wanna stay 25 ft from the tent!
Grant, count us in for 4.

Not true. In the past BG has not jacked up the UT ticket prices, but Toledo usually does. We liked to get on our high horse about how upset we were with it when UT did it, but not as many complaints about it now that BG is following suit.BG fan in Toledo wrote:Just an FYI, the ticket price for this game is ALWAYS higher than the rest of the season...I paid same price last year when it was in Toledo.
Personally I think it's idiotic. They put the game on a day when most students are in the process of heading home, to please ESPN. On top of that they're making the locals pay a higher ticket price than usual, when they don't come out for other games anyway. It's also a night game in late November.
There will be a crowd, because it's UT, but instead of a sellout rocking BG crowd I'd expect it to be pretty pro-UT. 50/50 is probably the best we can hope for at this point, judging by our recent attendance.

While on the subject of the Toledo game, does anyone know if there will be a business, etc. providing thunderstix? They may be annoying to some, but they make a lot of noise which is a good thing since unfortunately the game is on Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and on tv so if the weather is not cooperating, we need ALOT of noise!! I hope the marketing dept. can get that together and we have alot of fans there to root on the Falcons!!!
