Lost in all the dejection about the team's play so far this year and worry about the future, let's not forget Marshall lost yesterday. That's always a good thing, right?

Our sports radio channel here was ragging on Marshall & Conference USA. I figured y'all would appreciate that even down here, people were hating on Marshall. They said the whole conference was just "one big trailer park."

That's a bit unfair to the CUSA West division but pretty accurate regarding the East, or, as I've heard them called, the "Preppie Division" and the "Thug Division."

If you think we have problems...
Marshall benched the kicker and brought in a walk-on freshman to handle these duties. On game day the coach didn't even get his name right. He hit one early in the game from 22 yards. With the game on the line and the ball on the 7 yard line, Marshall decides to let the clock wind down and let him kick for the win. Well, the kick was blocked and the game goes to overtime. The poor guy then has to kick another 20-something yarder on their first overtime possession and he misses that one too. Marshall then gets to watch So. Miss. kick for the win. OUCH!!! Thinking about many of the teams this year, it seems a whole lot of teams are struggling in that department. Shaun sure was a luxury last year.
