Our good friend John Harris from The Blade wrote an editorial on whether Jacobs should play or not.

As Omar said...it's his non-throwing shoulder and very many quarterbacks have come back to play in less time than this with that same injury. Quite a few have been successful. Gradkowski's biggest problem was his throwing hand in that bowl game. We just need to protect Omar better than we did at Western game. We can't let two guys come through unblocked. PJ being back in the line up will certainly help with that protection. It would also be nice to see that 2 back set return. Wow...that was so effective, but we have only had the luxury of running it for one half of football (Wisky).

I think this is the correct attitude from the coach:
"I'm not going to force a kid to play. You're talking about a kid's life. I'm not going to put him in harm's way,'' Brandon said.
"It's an injury where he's going to have to fight through some pain. I'm listening to the doctors. I'm listening to the trainers. I'm listening to Omar. I told him, 'If you're ready to play, let me know.'."

I don't remember how the protection was overall prior to when Omar got hurt, but on that particular play the protection was fine. He should have dumped it off to PJ when he left the pocket. He got hit because he held onto the ball too long, not because of poor protection.

No to mention that Omar has said that it was the way he tried to protect himself in the fall that injured his shoulder, not the hit per se.

That's what I want to hear from the Coach. As long as Omar feels he can go....
