Did anybody read this? A couple of observations....
Who was grilling the Coach trying to get him to admit the offenses were the same but different. Jeez, fella, lighten up. Have a glass of water. Increase the fiber in your diet. You're all bound up.
Same with the questions about the Chicago paper saying we had basketball on grass. Who was that?

Q. It seems to me that when you get that comment it is kind of the slam of, you're not four yards and a cloud of dust...
A. And that's true...all you have to do is look at the MAC rushing stats last year after 14 games and see where we were. Need I say more?
----------------------------------------------------------
Preach it, Brother! People forget how well we rush the ball. They think we're all flash and dash but we can pound you into submission as well. Maybe it hasn't been as evident the 1st 2 weeks of this season but its still there. With our O line and this stable of backs?? That's what I'm talkin' about!
GB doesn't mince words....that's a great quality in a Head Coach.
His press conferences are very entertaining.
WHIP THE HUSKIES!

I'll always remember the UT game, but though era I know, I can't forget how we choked off Marshall in 97(?) They had the ball all of 15 minutes the entire game. I never went into a game with such low expectations, only to see things turn out totally different. The onside for the opening kick-off. Bobby Niemet having the game of his life. They should show the highlights on the big-screen before this years Marshall game.

I think that Mooshall game was in 1998. I recall thinking that Marshall was going to be tough even without Pennington because that Leftwich kid looked like a player.
If you were raised in the Midwest, our offense looks wierd. People in "these parts" grow up thinking that you have to have five hogs, a fullback and two TE's to control the ball. You don't need to do that. We spread the field, force the defense to try to defend the whole thing sideline to sideline and then we try to attack the weakest point with numbers. Having quick OLinemen that can move their feet, get out and pull and get downfield quickly is critical. Our WR's need to block well too.
When it works, it's fun to watch. When it's matched agains a defense that's quick enough to cover the field horizontally and vertically, we end up throwing alot of 3yrd completions and screens that go nowhere.
