Freakling Green Youth C team update....

Josh's team won 32-0 yesterday. He blocked well on the line and even recovered a fumble by the QB. But I, announcing the game without a spotter, didn't see it and Josh got mad at me for not announcing his name! :(
Josh also saw his first defensive action and crushed the QB on an option just after the QB pitched the ball. I am proud of his progress.

At any rate, the Bulldogs are now 2-1-1.

So how soon are you getting him an H2, some bling, and his own line of jerseys with his name on them!

He needs to yell UT sucks just before each tackle though, make it his war cry.

Teach them while they are young!

Good idea Nathan...The boy needs bling.

Of course, yelling "UT sucks" is proper anytime, anyplace.

And these boys of mine are being brainwashed....Falcons for life!! I might as well just come clean and admit my devious plan.

Freak (and Josh)
Congrats on the win! :supz: Sounds like things are coming together and Josh is enjoying football again. That's great!

My son's team lost their first game last week, 18-6. It wasn't pretty and the game wasn't as close as the score indicates. There is some serious coaching that needs to be done. Wish I had time to help out.

I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to participate in sports. She tries to crash every soccer practice she runs accross.

I'd like to see her play basketball. I can teach her so much about the proper use of the elbow, particularly on the ref's blind side.

Flipper,

If you were not in Norman for the game, you missed the absolutely, most funny, best produced Women's Basketball promo in the world!

Those ladies were hilarious! It made me want to go see the Lady Sooner basketball team!

Awesome stuff! Kudos to Josh for a big game.

We have a rematch with Penn State tonight, missing two of our best players. I expect the "freshmen" to step up and ... have fun!

Don't brainwash them completely. Let the discover the Orange and Brown on their own. The passion of hatred towards the blue and gold will follow with time :P I'm glad he's showing progress though! He can take Scott M.'s place at center someday!!

True yelling UT Sucks would match the trend I've noticed amongst BG fans (students?). I hate UT as much as the next guys, but how 'bout cleaning it up some?

Remember we pride ourselves on class, lets make sure we are showing that all the time!

Sorry, just my soapbox!

Personally I don't see what is wrong with saying a team sucks, it is much cleaner than some of the other things we could say about them. Whenever the band plays "Ay Ziggy Zoomba" and we say "win for B G S U" the visting students always yell "C K S", I find them rather amusing myself, espcially if we are winning.

Oh, not to worry....They loathe UT already.

If some of you haven't met Mike's kids yet, I GUARANTEE that the brainwashing or stimulation is working quite well, thank you. See you tomorrow nite, Michael.

I honestly don't consider "sucks" as a dirty word, or something with overtly offensive connotations. I never have felt that it does. I know thirty years ago adults advise kids around me not to use it. However these days, it simply is the inverse of the word "cool." Thats cool. That Sucks. It is all the same to me. I just don't see the problem. I might want a little kid running around saying it, but that is less a function of it being negative, and more of being improper use of the language. When they are old, sure, while they are young, no. Unless it is really cute and sounds funny in holiday cards!

Frankly, I'd rather the use of "Sucks" be far more wide-spread than words which are even less desirable.

NWLB - I'm sure you've been to hockey games (don't hear it quite so much at football)...those words are used as well....
