BG/UT Predictions

It's not too early to start the thread since we play on Tuesday. This game has "EVERYTHING" written all over it for BG. If we beat Toledo, we win the MAC East, we go to the MAC Championship, and we're likely headed to another bowl game. If we lose, and it will very likely be Akron representing the East (I still can't believe we lost to the Zips - at home) and I can't stomach that. What's more, we've lost our last two home games and we need to break that streak too. You know Toledo is going to let it all hang out and will come at us with everything they have. I hope it's not freezing Tuesday night (though the forecast says it will be) and we can send our seniors off in winning fashion.

I say if the team is anyway near as dejected as their fans who are looking forward to basketball season BG wins no doubt.
It's funny how their board always makes fun of us for taking a loss so seriously...

My prediction was almost dead on for the last game, 42-24 and it was 42-14. And I'll say this, I have absolutely no reason to go against Bowling Green in this one. BG's defense was absolutely awesome against Miami, while the offense, while not perfect (Omar showed some rust) certainly played well. Meanwhile, Toledo looked BAD tonight, particularly after halftime. Their defense couldn't stop anybody! Their recievers were AWFUL, what was it 7, 8, 9 dropped balls?! If they play anything like that next week BG's defense will take them to school. Toledo showed no semblence of a ground game tonight, and if BG can shut down Brandon Murphy, then there's not much of a chance UT will be able to run on the BG defense.
With Omar truly back and ready to roll, the BG defense looking better than they have all season, and with UT getting clocked on their home field via playing their worst game of the season, it doesn't look good for Toledo. In fact, I'm going all out. IT'S GONNA BE A BLOWOUT!!!

It's a rivalry game...so anything can happen...we know that much.
UT's secondary looks to be very weak aside from Jackson, so that is a good sign for our passing game. Stopping Dawson could prove to be a task...we shall see that one.
BG is coming off arguably the best game of the season and obviously an emotional high. The defense showed what we knew it could do, and the offense although wasn't great, got the job done.
Toledo will be a desperate team...so will BG. The team that loses likely doesn't go to the MACC, barring the tiebreakers.
Seniors last home game...night game at the Doyt on a crisp November night...it sounds good to me.

Amstutz will be "hungry" for a win after last night's performance, but the road team has not won this game in a while.

Well I see one of two scenieros, both of which have BG on top!
1. BG routs TU 48 - 14 scoring 36 by the half and CueTips hand is hurt and ego deflated and Big Tom goes for it repeadidly on 4th down and turns the ball over.
2. A near repeat of last year. BGSu 36 by the half TU 7 end of the third BGUS 39 Ut 34 Game ends BGSU 48 UT 42
I hope its cold real cold for this game.

If it were anyone other than Fat Bastard coming to town, I'd be prediciting a rout over a totally demoralized foe. He will have them ready to play.
It still won't be enough though....

While I want to say this has 2001 written all over it, UT has been there many times before in big games.
But after the last 2 weeks, BG is right where it needs to be. We are finally playing like we are capable.

A win clinches a bowl given Toledo's loss last night, as the winner of WMU/NIU would win the west if we win (neither the loser of WMU/NIU nor Toledo could get the bowl bid over us, as the scenario of WMU finishing 8-3 without winning the west while BG wins the east at 7-4 is no longer a possibility).

My head is going to explode with all the different scenarios! ** Let's just win the da#m game and start cue-ing "We are the Champions!"
I say we win by 2 touchdowns. Sanders is going to have a huge game as they will key on #1. And Look out for "Slash" Partridge!
**but my thanks to all those who have worked so hard to explain it!
IT IS SO LONG UNTIL TUESDAY!!!!!

The big question is which UT team will take the field. We have made a lot of mistakes on offense all season long, but some games have been much worse and those are our 3 losses and the Buffalo win.
If we keep the mistakes down like we did half the season we can win. If we make a lot of mistakes again, we will definitely lose.
That said, this is the UT/BG rivalry and anything can happen.
