To summarize from other threads:

BG win = BG

BG, Miami and Akron Lose = BG

BG loses; Akron, Miami and WMU win = BG

BG loses; Akron, Miami, Ball State and NIU win = BG

BG and Miami lose; Akron wins = Akron

BG and Ball State lose; Akron, Miami and NIU win = Akron

Miami can't win a tiebreaker.

Did I miss anything?

Wow, this is getting confusing. Are you sure about these two scenarios?
BG loses; Akron, Miami and WMU win = BG

BG loses; Akron, Miami, Ball State and NIU win = BG
Best-case scenario, of course, is to dispatch the Rockets and claim the title outright.

Well, if BG and Akron lose why does Miami have to lose, too?

Why doesn't BG loses, Miami and Ball State Win work?

Or, it could be BG loses, Miami and WMU win (we played WMU, and everyone else played NIU, so that would help them in the tiebreaker).

What about BG and Ball State lose, Akron, Miami and WMU win=BG.

I think (and I may be missing something) that a BSU win over CMU Saturday substitutes perfectly for the win we could have gotten from Toledo.

As for the other comment. I want this team to win a championship, and I couldn't care less how it happens. I would love to face Toledo with the championship in hand....and then beat them.

Maybe stated this way makes it simpler, maybe not. There are 2 scenarios where Akron wins the East, otherwise the title is BG's:

1)
OU over Miami
UT over BG
Akron over Kent St.

or

2)
Miami over OU
UT over BG
Akron over Kent St.
NIU over Western Mich.
Central Mich. over Ball St.

I don't think they do. If BG and Miami tie, we beat them so we go to the MACC.

I think it does. Even though BG and Akron both played Ball State, the key is that Akron played Central and that would give them another loss.

Yep, a Western or Ball State win helps us (if Miami beats OU that is). Our crossover opponents currently have seven losses, Akron's have eight. Akron played both Central and Ball State so they are guarnenteed to have their opponents get to nine losses. The only way we get into a situation where the three way tie-breaker comes in is if we lose to Toledo. Given that, the ONLY way our crossover opponents get to nine losses is if Western and Ball St both lose then. So either one of them winning gives us teh tie-breaker over Akron in a three way tie with Miami.

See above.

Yep, I agree that is the scenarios where Akron goes to the MACC. Otherwise, it is us.

So let me get this straight.

If Ball State wins on Saturday and Miami wins on Monday. We will enter the Toledo game as East Division Champs?

If I am reading all this correctly, the out come of the Toledo game and the Akron game would not mean anything (in the standings) because this would ensure us of the tie breaker no matter what.

Of course we are going to destroy the Rockets either way. So it is a mute point.

Go Falcons!

That's the rub -- how's Corey's shoulder?

I'm with you. They have the MAC games strung out all next week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And, I hear ESPN2 is going to televise them all... or not... well, if they feel like it.

Anyway, let's just nail this baby down Tuesday night.

GO FALCONS!

His right shoulder is now pretty solid. His left is still a little tender, he got a little stinger on it Tuesday/Wednesday early in the game, but said it felt good the rest of the way.

So in other words...it could be decided before Tuesday night.

On Monday, Miami wins against OU...and if that is the case we refer back to results on Saturday and ask "did Ball State or Western win?" if either did then we are partying at the tent Tuesday afternoon!!!!

Interesting point. If the above tiebreakers are correct, Tuesday's game mignt not matter (well, for purposes of going to the MACC). Central is at BSU on Saturday and Miami is a OU on Monday. Western/NIU is not until Wednesday.

So if BSU wins Saturday and Miami wins Monday its over? Hmmm... makes me nervous.

Riddle time:

Q- What's better than beating Toledo?
A- Beating Toledo twice in ten days?
Q - What's better than beating Toledo twice in ten days?
A - Beating Toledo twice in ten days and winning the MAC title in the process.

Go Falcons.
