I have never played organized football in my life but I know that on 3 and 7 and a team needing a score they aren't going to run, so I don't know how everyone on toledo isn't covered

and Toledo was smart enough to call it as it again left a TE open... When do you figure out that someone needs to cover the TE on 3rd and seven!

Toledo had plenty of runs over 7 yards today, you have to respect their run game even on third and long.

And let's not forget Toledo Tom's propensity for going for it on fourth down. The announcers pounded it home, saying Toledo has gone for it on fourth down something like 30% of the time with Amstutz as HC. Hence, it wasn't like a normal 3rd and 7. Because even a four- or five-yard game puts them at 4th and short, which they are rather comfortable with.

He would have kicked the field goal to tie if it were 4th and 2 or 3. It would have tied the game..if they go for it and don't get it we would have won. Even Amstutz isn't that stupid.

I'm sure this has been pounded to death in another thread, but what about Toledo's propensity for the screen pass? How many times have they effectively used that against BG? And don’t get me started on roll right and pass left…

Regardless, I still think BG played well for most of the game. Sorry to see them lose, hopefully they’ll rebound next year. I don’t think ALL of the weapons will be gone, contrary to the expert opinion of Pony Boy.
