I can't really tell how a couple of the calls should have been made since I was at the game, and for some reason they didn't show a lot of the replays on the big screen... but it seemed to me like a couple of the plays weren't called very fairly. the one that really sticks out in my mind is that pass interference call in the 3rd quarter with about 7 min remaining. i think it was terrill mayberry that made the hit. it seemed pretty clean to me. there were a few other calls but im kinda drunk right now and can't really remember. anyone that saw the game on tv notice anything?

Honestly, the officiating stunk on ice. Some calls (and non-calls) went BG's way, others went to the Rockets. But it was not a well-officiated game, at all. I don't think it determined the game, but it wasn't good.

I think that was a personal foul, not interference, unless I'm thinking of another play. Someone said that Omar did not score on our first touchdown. If that's true, we can't really complain too much.

I agree that a lot of the officiating was way off tonight! The plays that stick out most for me (just to name a few of MANY!) were the first two Toledo drives of the 2nd half. Both drives would have been over if not for these calls, and they ended up being major factors in the game. I didn't think that they were "for sure" enough to call since they ended up being the deciding factors in the game. The first was the roughing the punter call. The second was the dead ball personal foul call. We were up in the stands so we couldn't tell for sure, but on the roughing the punter call, it looked like the punter for UT just pulled off a great acting job since he basically fell down pretty much untouched (or so it looked to us and we had a great view.) With those two calls, the officials basically handed UT 10 points nicely gift wrapped with a big red bow on top.

Craig James was adamant that Omar didn't get in, though I found it tough to tell from the replay. It certainly didn't look like he got it by much and the officials took a friggin eternity to make the call.

The punter deserves an Emmy for that acting job.

-- The roughing the kicker was a HUGE call. First, we had set the tone for the second half by getting a three and out to start. To give that up and the field position we would have gotten were HUGE. Second, not sure why the dildo ref called it a personal foul, when it certainly looked to me like very little contact. Running into the kicker, yes, Roughing the kicker, don't think so. It was fourth and 5, but I think they still would have been a couple inches short of a first down. So that difference, running into vs roughing, gave them a first down.

-- The personal foul on Mayberry was complete, excuse me for saying this, horseshit. The WR was diving for the ball and Mayberry came over to make a play. It look like Terrill was trying to get out of the way. But the ref saw the WR head snapped back so he thought he had to call something when in fact it was the WR who caused the contact. And again, this was a situation where the defense made the stop and would've gotten off the field.

Agree, but what is worse is that I think they were both bad calls. I mean our defense struggles enough and makes enough mistakes on their own. We didn't need the officials making it even worse for them.

Oh, I forgot to say this above, but what the hell were we doing even trying to block that punt? We stopped them three and out. We are going to get decent field position if we just go for a return. And it was only fourth and 5 so any contact with the punter risks giving them the ball back. Yes we blocked one earlier. But you have to pick and choose your spots based on the game situation and this is definitely one where we should have played for the return.

In his post game comments, Brandon admitted that they shoud not have gone for another block.

The personal foul call on Mayberry was, if I'm not mistaken, for helmet to helmet contact. There was none, but they called it anyway.

Yeah...we can say the offiviating was brutl and that it cost us some points, but the fricking zebras didn't give up close to 300 yds rushing....ultimateloy, the defense didn't make the stops.

It looked clean to me. That call drove me completely crazy.

If you ask the ESPN announcers that hit was malicious and uncalled for and just a dirty play. This was even after showing the replay 20 times. No surprise but Craig James even said that our player should stand at midfield and have a Toledo player hit him as hard as he can for payback.

The officials and James were battling all game to see who could make a bigger a$$ of themselves.

I feel badly for Mayberry...IIRC he was called for pass interference in the third qtr against Toledo last year as well. That ball was thrown so high the WR would have needed a cherry picker to reach it, but they masde the call nonetheless...
