Craig James

Aside from seeming disdainful for having to do two straight MAC/BG games, could he have acted more bored or uninterested? How little did he add? Spielman seems like Keith Jackson by comparison.

I really hope in the future I never have to sit through a BG game and listen to Craig James again. The whole game he had an attitude like " I can't believe they are making me do a MAC game

". Could he have possibly gone on any longer about the first BG score? I swear he was still talking about that in the 4th quarter.

This creep Craig James has some nerve! I complained about him all game long and cringed at every pathetic tone released from his dirt hole. This guy graduated from SMU and feels that he's better than the MAC and shouldn't have to do any broadcasting for a MAC team. This is what makes me truly hate the pairing of the BCS and the decision of the University Presidents that don't want a playoff system. Anyhow...I'm with you hamjunior, I hope to never hear this creeps voice again!

I've watched the replay a coupld times now and his comments about T MAyberry were WAY outta line. IMO, it wasn't a dirty shot. But he stated "They should line up Mayberry and let a few guys hit him...se how he likes it". This guys sucks, period. His panty wetting fest (sorry ladies) about the TD Call with Omar was nausiating. I couldn't tell either way.
The guy is a loser and it's a shame cuz the guy doing the play by play was great. Can't remember his name at the moment but he was good both ways for BG and UT. Good professional voice and carries himself well. James is the exact opposite. That a choch nugget.
At lease he pointed out how many times Parks was getting held by the UT linemen.

Other than the comment about the BG player that should line up to be hit, I thought James did a pretty good job, considering his hatred for the MAC. You could see the ball near the 1 yd line on the first BG touchdown so I can understand why he was harping on that one.

I don't want to get off the topic of bashing Craig James, but I have a question about the Jacobs phantom TD. I didn't tape the game, have no desire to watch it, and did not see highlights. What exactly happened on the TD? I've heard that he fumbled and that he was stopped short, etc. Sitting in the stands, I just assumed that Omar was at the bottom of the pile and when the refs pulled everyone off the pile that he was laying in the end zone. For those that watched on TV or saw the replay, what happened? Thanks!

I was standing behind the band, right along the goalline. He did fumble the ball on the snap (similar to what Chad Henne did in the Mich-ND game if you watched that) I'm not sure what all the moaning is about though b/c BG came out of the pile with the ball. The refs waited until they saw who had the ball and made the call.

The moaning is that it was 4th down, and if he didn't get in, it didn't matter who came out with it, it would be UT's ball. I was up a little higher behind the band, at about the 15 yd line, and I didn't think he got in. I thought he fumbled it, caught it at his knees, and by the time he hit the ground, he still had the ball around his knees at the half-yard line or so. I think BG got a break, but I didn't see any replays of the game, so I wouldn't know for sure. What I DO know is that Timchenko couldn't kick that PAT fast enough!!!!
And if Craig James really said that Mayberry needed to be punished like that for that hit, he really is a prick. Looked like two players going after a low ball, to me, though again, I didn't see any replays.

Wow! You've got some real good eyes. That's where the ball was sitting...just above his knees at his thighs. Apparently the replay guy told ESPN that they didn't review it because they didn't think they'd have a good view of it but we could see it in the review and you saw it from the stands. Regardless, it didn't matter in the end and those refs blew on both sides. It's rare to see refs blow a call which results in seven points though.
He did say that about Mayberry. It didn't look intentional, which is what he thought. Either way, I was surprised to hear that. He seemed to enjoy that game a lot more than any other MAC games I've seen him in though.

All the better to watch the coeds, of course.
As for the rest, if anyone asks, let's just say my exact quote was something along the lines of "of course Omar got in, what the hell is everyone smoking!?!" Okay?
(I can't let myself be in agreement with too many UT fans, it angries up the blood!

)
