For ONCE?

My friend, you need good news ALL THE TIME. Trust me.
From the halls of ivy...

It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan

If you want good news why would you want recruiting news?

Usually that's bad news for you.

Is it me or is there this overwhelming negative attitude towards Falconboy on this site. Are we trying to get him to leave this site and stop posting or do I just have the wrong perception? I haven't been on here long so I don't know the history, but I don't understand why there seems to be an attack on Falconboy in almost every thread I read. Even if he is a pessimist, I don't think it's right to lay on the onslaught that he has had to endure for the past several months.

I can only imagine how it would make me feel if it were me at the receiving end of some of the comments thrown around on here. As a member that doesn't post very often I sometimes find myself somewhat apprehensive to post my actual feelings and thoughts about BG for fear of reprisal from those that may happen to disagree. Disagreement is a natural by-product of debate, and frankly it is what makes things interesting. My honest opinion is that pessimistic as well as optimistic views are necessary in order to maintain balance and create a middle ground. Debate on this site shouldn't be personal, and I sincerely hope it's not and that maybe I just don’t' understand the circumstances and what not of Falconboy's relationships to other posters on this site. These are just my thoughts and observations on the issue and again I do not mean to single out anyone person. I am interested in finding out what others think! Thanks
I see your Swartz is as big as mine!

I guess you can be pessimistic all you want but when you bitch about attendence and bitch about people not donating money and then you proudly say that I am not going to donate money because I want to buy an ipod or I'm going to go to the game after the half when you can get in for free patience with a person runs a little thin.

You can point out the bad things. Yes I know things aren't always rainbows and hugs here at Bowling Green but when you do absolutely nothing to turn that around or you are part of the problem you have no reason to complain.

Also I would say that 99% of the student-athletes that have been recruited here, doesn't matter the sport have not been good enough in falconboys eyes. Either too small, not fat enough, too short, not fast enough you name it there is a complaint. So yeah when he wants to know about the recruits coming in, it's not to see how good they are it's to bash them.

OK here you go from the Detroit News on its All-Detroit City Team.

Athan Anagonye, U-D Jesuit

A two-year starter on the defensive line, Anagonye, the brother of Aloysius Anagonye (Michigan State), has been offered a scholarship by Bowling Green. He also played offensive tackle at times this season. He had 43 first hits and 18 assists. Ten of his tackles were for negative yards, and he had six sacks. "He was our best defensive player," coach Scott Merchant said. "He has good athleticism for a big guy. His forte was rushing the passer."

I believe they listed him at 6'3" 230. His brother Al was 6'8" 260 so maybe he has room to grow.

Allen Adams, Cody

A three-year, two-way starter at defensive back and quarterback, Adams led the Comets to the team's first state playoff victory this season and a 7-4 record. On defense, he had 40 tackles, two interceptions and one fumble recovery. Adams threw 16 touchdown passes and scored eight touchdowns. "I like playing defense more," Adams said. "I like tackling and I like making interceptions. But I do like the ball in my hands, too." Adams also competes in track in the sprint relays and 200-meter dash. He is being recruited by Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Toledo

They better seal the deal with this guy, though if Michigan offers, you'd think he goes there. Pretty sure Michigan would ask him to play safety.

Dominique Douglas 6’1 185 Detroit Murray-Wright. After a great senior season he may receive a U-M offer, although he did not at his Nov. 19 U-M unofficiali visit. He has offers from Bowling Green (Dec. 2 official visit), Cincinnati and EMU. He is making an OSU official visit on Dec. 9, and is also hearing from Illinois and Michigan State. He will attend the U-M/OSU game for an unofficial visit.

Sebo Center ground breaking will be held this Friday afternoon.

:?: But how can they name a facility after a guy that is going to pull his donation back?

Who said Sebo was pullling his donation, I never said that , maybe somebody else did. The only thing I've been pessimestic about was whether other donors would jump on board with like sized donations.

No, you were a great deal more pessimistic than that. You referred tot he project as a "fantasy".

Drop by the Doyt after 12/2 to watch "fantasy" become reality...

so, too, was the athletic administration, which is why it's called the Sebo Center, not the _________ Center.

see, that's the way major capital campaigns tend to work. there is usually a large pace setter, who makes a large contribution and is rewarded with having his/her/firm's name attached to the project (for a recent example see: Bowen-Thompson Student Union). the balance of the funding is made up through many many many many more small donations, of any size. those folks' names are not attached to the project.

will they charge admission, because if that's the case, you can expect him not to be there.

No, what will be reality is a groundbreaking of a Sebo Center. The Sebo Center is not reality yet. Reality is what is existing at the moment and I don't see a Sebo Center do you? Frankly , we'll be lucky to have this thing done by summer of '07 or '08 the way money has been coming in for this project which has been very slow.

Groundbreaking or not , there's probably no chance of seeing this thing by fall of next year like like the plan was. But we sure do need to get this thing done bad. We need something to lure great athletes here, cuz there's not much else to sell them on.

maybe you could check with the hundreds of falcon student-athletes and ask them why they bothered to come to bgsu, since there is nothing redeeming about the university or its athletic programs.

there must be something. our athletic scholarships do not go unfilled each year. two things that aren't bringing great student athletes to bg are you and your piss poor attitude.
