Only one and it's in hell.

Hell of course being a metaphor for us having to wait nine months for our next game.

As John Weinert used to say, it's between slim and none and slim just left town.

collegefootballnews.com still projects us to go to the GMAC bowl. I'm am pretty sure this was recently updated, it says Nov. 26, 2005. Kinda hope they are right, but i'm sure it will be Toledo. I wanna go on another trip with the marching band! But i guess i may have to wait till next season.

A bowl would be great, but do we really deserve a bowl game?

I would submit that we deserve a bowl game just as much as any other 6-5 team from a Bullshit Championship Series-affiliated conference. And there are always quite a few of them. If we did get a bowl, it would be silly to laugh it off - it would actually be a bit vindicating for every time the MAC has gotten screwed out of bowl slots.

I'm not saying it is going to happen, but if it does, be grateful - we deserve it.

well said B.O. we should take it any way we can get it. lets not always expect to get totally screwed over by the BCS... just not be surprised when it happens!

I saw this too. The first thing I did was look to see where they had Toledo if BG was listed for a bowl, and they didn't have Toledo listed. They had NIU and BG going bowling from the MAC. Now while most of us on here would agree that BG is a better choice than Toledo for a bowl game (big smile), I can't see how a 6-5 BG gets picked over an 8-3 Toledo, especially since they just beat us head-to-head on our home field just the other day. Stranger things have happened, but I just can't see this happen as much as I wish it would.

There is nothing I'd rather see more than BG play at least one more game this year especially with all the players that are going to be graduating. But I'm just being honest when I say there shouldn't be any team who has a 6-5 record going to a bowl game.

An 11/27 update of CFN's bowl predictions has Toledo playing Tulsa in GMAC and NIU playing Memphis in Motor city. I think this is how it will play out. I don't think NIU will lose to Akron.

The rumor mill has Toledo getting a GMAC invite today. Now would NIU get screwed if they somehow lost to Akron? Because Toledo would have already accepted GMAC and the MCB is required then to take MAC Champ Akron?

Probably. But if Akron would win they would finish at 7-5, and NIU in losing would also finish 7-5. So I guess really given the MAC set up NIU isn't getting screwed. Now they would be a 7-5 team not bowling so that does suck for them.

Plus Akron would be 2-0 vs. NIU if it played out that way, so it's in their own hands to earn the berth.

Can somebody do that whole analysis of eligible teams left vs. bowl bids. There were several last year that were pretty good. That will put all this "stranger things have happened" bs to rest.

We are not going bowling.

Dear coaches, between now and the spring game can you please pickup some big stud D-linemen and 1 linebacker who wants to kill somebody. Check the penal leagues if you have to, we only need them for one semester, Fall of 2006!
