I don't see him being a first round simply because the pros see a lot of talent in the lad. They also see a lot of repair to his 'mechanics' -which they WILL attempt to change. They always do.

Best case scenario for Omar in my opinion is end of round 2, beginning of round 3. Omar needs alot of work, but if he can get paid to work on mechanics instead of doing it here, who can blame him.

Here is to Omar getting drafted by a good team and getting a chance to develop.....

Go to the NFL. Get paid. Work with a coach that will actually let you grow and develop.

The more I think about it the more it seems Omar is better off leaving. I think there's an adage about rats and a sinking ship that applies.

What I wanted to say, but tried not to be so "negative". Kind of like having a unpaid co-op and one making $30 an hour, which one would you take???

I wouldnt be surprised if Bruce gets drafted ahead of Omar. The few games I've seen him in he's been pretty accurate. Yeah he throws a lot of screen passes but he gets the job done.

Omar has potential but in bigger games this year and last year excluding Oklahoma and Wisconsin he looked a little shakey out there. His accuracy wasn't that great and he doesn't do all that well in pressure situations.

But I really don't know much about football I could be dead wrong. I'm a basketball guy.

As long as the Baltimore Browns don't get him I'll be happy.

I still am not positive Omar is going to hear what he wants from his NFL feelers. I'm not convinced he's a second round prospect anymore. I never thought I'd say that 4 months ago. Having said that, he'd probably be smart to leave anyway if a lot of that junior QB talent doesn't (Young, Quinn, Vick, Stanton). He's not going to match up very well against those guys if everyone stays simply due to surrounding talent.

Omar is checking out his options and that is exactly what I would expect him to do. It may depend on what a lot of the other QB's do. If they come out early, there could be a logjam of available talent this year. If that happens and he comes back for another year, well then he could sit at the top of the QB class in the 2007 draft.

Whatever he chooses, I wish him the best. I will not get angry with him for choosing to go out and earn a living for himself and his family. Isn't that the whole point of going to college?

Omar was not the one looking shaky at UT last year. He looked great at the GMAC bowl. The Boise game was bad, but like most Heisman candidates, that jinx makes them have that one terrible game when the nation is watching. Biggest problem for O this year was not having the receiving weapons available. Cole was gone, but replaced and that replacement was hurt at Wisky game and never the same. PJ went down in Wisky game and was never the same. These were 2 key receivers running key routes. Last year, all of the key receivers were available every game and the offense was able to click.

As far as Bruce, I certainly don't see him surpassing Omar. Here's a list dated Nov. 17th and it is based on potential at the next level. There are many more that still have O listed quite high. I found one where he was not even listed, but when glancing at the next year, they had him at number 1 for 2007. I have yet to find a list that doesn't have him up there.

Not sure if you're dogging on Baltimore or Cleveland...I know how you feel about both of 'em.

Personally I don't really want the Browns to draft him, myself. I don't like his leadership, and we have no idea of his mental grasp on the game. Let him go somewhere else, and I'll wish him the best, but I don't like him as a prospect enough to be hoping Cleveland gets him.

Kind of digging on both of them. I truly hate the Ravens, but to me and a lot of Clevelanders, they are just the old Browns. Of course after last night's performance, I don't really want to think about the NFL this week

His stock has fallen considerably, late 3rd, early 4th depending on which juniors end up coming out.

Sadly I can't think of any reason for him to come back, short of finishing his degree. Loses both RBs, some WRs, to be fair his stock took a hit this season, it could potentially take an even greater one next season.

In retrospect, he should have come out last year. I don't think there is anything to be gained by staying. Most likely, he struggles to have only as good as year as this year, and that's going to hurt his status. I mean, if losing Cole, McGrady, and Hawk and ONLY throwing to Sharon and Sanders hurt his numbers this year, than imagine what its going to be like when Corey, Ruben Ruiz and Parks are your three wideouts.

You are all going to claim that you are being rational, but I happen to disagree. The pessimism expressed in this thread begs the question why anyone would want to play at Bowling Green if things are this bad?

Go ahead and flame me away, but you people are, in my opinion, simply dead wrong about our returning talent next year. We may not run the table, but you all talk about next season as if it were a lost cause altogether. Huh?
