Omar's status is kinda up in the air. But who do we know we're going to lose?

Just going from the BG Web site ...

OL: Jonathan Culp, Rob Warren

RB: P.J. Pope, B.J. Lane

WR: Charles Sharon, Steve Sanders, Derrick Lett

DL: Mike Thaler, Monte Cooley

DB: Jelani Jordan, John Nicholson, Terrill Mayberry

LB: Teddy Piepkow, Tim Arnold, Aaron Burkhart, Jamien Johnson

P/K: Josef Timchenko, Nate Fry

One quick thought before opening the floor to observations and comment - that's a lot of offensive firepower.

EDITED TO ADD Mayberry, as per first two responses...

Also lose Terrill Mayberry and Mike Crumpler. For some reason, the BGSU website lists them as juniors, but I know Mayberry played in 3 games in 2002. Not sure about Crumpler. Mayberry is a big loss, IMO.

Mayberry is a senior also....the roster lists him as a JR, but he played three games in his freshman year (2002) and saw action the following three seasons.

Thaler and Jelani will be tough to replace on defense, the rest of them....not so much.

On offense, we lose a lot of guys with some talent...but I think they took a few steps backward this year. Blame the coach, the weather,Omar's injury, PJ's injury or Canada, the guys we were counting on to be all Mac typee guys didn't play at the same level this year.

I guess that's why I'm not as sanguine about our chances next year as most of you. They guys we had in there weren't clicking like they did before, so let's see what the "kids" can do

"I do not think it means what you think it means."

Your post reads like you're down playing the player losses, yet this comment threw me for a loop. I don't see a great deal of optimism on this site, nor did it seem like you thought the sky was in fact falling like many on AZZ. A little clarification on what you meant would be nice.

Fine, I'll quit tap dancing. The talent we're losing is substantial, the output of that talent won't be as difficult to replace.

i used the term "sanguine" to describe the general atmosphere of this place because it's "bloody" awful

I thought it was to describe the bug you were going to eat IF we somehow made it to a bowl game this year.

Clearly this is Canada's fault...

Huh. I just assumed that went without saying.
