Antonio Smith - don't you just wish you could get the graphics guy to show him hitting someone and then see a big "POW!" or "WHAM!" appear like they did when Batman and Robin would get in fights with the bad guys.

I'm sure one of our Photo shop pro's could oblige....but instead of Bam or Pow...how about STOCCO! As in, man he really got Stocco'd on that scramble

I know I'm in the minority, but I actually HATE Antonio Smith's hitting. I cringe everytime he's in a one-on-one situation, because I know he's going to go for one of those hits. Sure they look sweet, but they're also indicative of why we sucked on defense most of the season.

Any coaching staff worth it's salt would've been in his face every single time he pulled off one of those hits, and sitting him for a series would've been a good idea. Until we learn the proper way to make a tackle we'll continue to be lousy on defense.

I agree, mostly...On the Sacco hit, it was pretty clear that he didn't see him coming, so the chances of him not drilling him were minimal.

As a rule though, if you have a corner that tries to make hits like that when he's the last man between the ball and the end zone, you're going to get burned for six far more often than you'll force a turnover.

I agree with hammb and Flipper... I think the kid's gonna be a stud, but every time he gets a "POW!" for a big hit, he should get a "WHOOPS!" for a slipped arm tackle...

keep coming with the huge hits, and dont discourage anyone who has that much emotion and intensity on defense. simply teach him to make a bigger fool of the guy by wrapping him up and drilling him into the ground!

Nice sentence structure. Now go find a link to where "some of us cats" were telling you Sharon wasn't a good receiver.

There were 3 that i was looking for. i only found 1.. http://www.ay-ziggy-zoomba.com/phpBB2/v ... sc&start=0

The 2nd one was like Sharon drops balls all day long. It seriously said all day long.

The 3rd one was just people listing the best current BG players from 1-5 or some went 1-10 i think. I know a lot of people didnt have them in the top 5, and i think one person went as far as putting him outside the top 10. I have always thought that he was better than Omar at his position but that QB is obviously a more important position than WR. My top 5 would be something like Chuck, Omar, Sandman, D Parks, and maybe Jelani... im not a big fan of Pope. I think he is a really a heck of a RB but i have never thought he is the best player on the team as Brandon claims. I might have him 6th on my list, but i wouldnt have him 1st seeing how BJ Lane, Bobby Thomas, and Dan Macon have all about the exact same amount of success. I think our offensive line determines their YPC more than anything, and if i had to pick one of those to break a tackle or make a guy miss i'd take Pope 2nd behind Thomas. Either way individual positions dont matter when you cant find a way to win games as a team!

Okay, reading the first link, I still don't see anything that says Sharon is horrible. I saw things that said he appeared to mail it in in ONE game, which everyone quickly agreed was likely an aberration. Chuck HAS been known to drop some easy ones while making the circus ones look semi-routine. That's a FACT. And just because someone didn't "rate him in their top five" or whatever doesn't mean they don't respect the hell out of what he's done here for four years. Everyone looks at things from their own angle. If you'd have asked me before the season who I thought the team MVP would be, I'd probably have said PJ, too. Have you watched this team before this year? Your comments about Pope make me wonder.

Congrats to Chuck, but if you think people hate him or disrespect him, you're horribly mistaken.

wow. hates or disrespects him? I certainly never said that nor do I think it. Once again I disagree that he drops a lot of easy passes. Look, every WR is going to drop passes easy or hard. There is no such thing as catching every single one. My take on the one at Wiscy because he was thinking TD. I promise you Jerry Rice and other great WRs have dropped passes more similar or less excusable reasons. Its part of the game. So no he doesnt drop them all day long, nor is it "fact" that he cant get the easy ones. Have I watched this team more than this year? Are you serious? Like I said Pope is a great player and a heck of a RB. I just disagreed that he was thee BEST PLAYER on the entire team. A 1,000 yard season doesnt make you anything spectacular. Sure he ran hard and did a great job, but I sure dont get that special feeling about him like when im watching Reggie Bush, DeAngelo Williams, Garret Wolfe, etc. The best part of that post is when you said congrats to Chuck. That is all i wanted. Because I have said from before the start of this year, that he is the MVP of this team. I got somewhat ridculed and most definitely disagreed with. So here we are, at the end of the year and he proves a lot of people wrong by taking home the coveted MVP. Congratulations #1 Charles Sharon!
