The other thread discussing next year's schedule got me thinking.
The NCAA has publicly stated that 6-6 teams will not be bowl-eligible anymore. With that in mind, imagine this ...
BG goes 0-4 in its OOC schedule and stumbles to another 5-3 mark in the MAC. They win the East by a tie-breaker, a la Akron this year. That puts them in the MACC game at 5-7. Even if the win that game, making them MAC Champions, they are 6-7 and not bowl-eligible. They could petition the NCAA, of course, but if there are two other MAC teams that are bowl-eligible (Toledo, NIU, WMU), why would the NCAA grant that waiver.
I dunno. I guess my mind is really stuck on football even though the season is over.
